Boho Indigo Thank You Card

Boho Indigo Thank You

It’s that time of year where we anxiously await the debut of Stampin’ Up!’s new Annual Catalog. But, we also mourn the loss of some of our favorite products. (Some things must go to make room for more!)

The Boho Indigo Product Medley finds itself on the retiring list. What a great value at $70. It includes a stamp set, coordinating dies, a lovely package of Designer Series Paper with pre-embossed Very Vanilla components, two ribbons, tags, and flowers. Sorry, the refill kit is sold out.

Easy Handmade Sticky Notepad Holder

Are you looking for an easy-to-create teacher gift? Or stocking stuffer? This easy handmade sticky note holder fits the bill perfectly. I list directions below. Be sure to watch the video at the end of the post for visual reference.

Easy Handmade Sticky Note Holder

Start with a piece of card stock measuring 8 inches by 3 1/4 inches. Score at 2 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 5 1/2, inches, and 6 inches. Fold on the score lines. Stampin’ Up! offers 50 different colors of card stock. Imagine the possibilities! Choose a coordinating Designer Series Paper or vice versa.

Place the sticky note pad in the middle of the card stock using Stampin’ Seal+ or Tear and Tape.

Adhere the Designer Series Paper pieces measuring 3 inches by 1 3/4 inches to the front card stock flaps.

Select a stamp set sentiment to adorn the holder. For the above holder, I used the “Smile” sentiment from the Daisy Lane stamp set and the Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper.

Use self-adhesive velcro dots to create a closure for the pad.

The holder below features Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas Gleaming stamp set, the coordinating Gleaming Ornament Punch Pack, and the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper. These three products retire at the end of the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog period. This means you won’t be able to purchase them from Stampin’ Up! (Just a note: At the time of this post Wednesday, December 9), the punches and Designer Series Paper are discounted during the 2020 Year-End Closeout Sale. (The Year-End Closeout is while supplies last or through January 4.)

Boho Indigo Scraps and Embossing

Want to use your Boho Indigo Scraps (or any scraps) with a fun embossing technique? Keep reading.

Boho Indigo Scraps and Embossing

I love Stampin’ Up!’s Boho Indigo Product Medley. Find it on page 9 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. The Night of Navy and Midnight Muse colors call to me! I’ve used the medley in a ton of card projects. Click on the links below to look at past posts, samples, and projects.

Five Birthday Card Samples

After all of that creating, I have a lot of scraps and small pieces. The technique I show today isn’t new. I resurrected it for this beautiful designer series paper and its scraps!

  • Using Stampin’ Up!’s 1 1/2-inch circle punch, punch a variety of different designs from both sides of the patterned paper
  • Arrange the circles onto a a piece of Very Vanilla card stock or Midnight Muse card stock.
  • Glue the circles down with multipurpose glue.It’s OK if some of them go off the edge of the base.
  • Let it dry.
  • Run the whole piece through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with your choice of embossing folders. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Tin Tile and Dainty Diamonds.
  • Trim the edges if any of the circles overlap.
  • Layer onto a coordinating card stock and then a card base.
  • Add a sentiment of your choice.
  • You could dress up with ribbon or other embellishments.

Be sure to watch the video below to see me work through this card. I hope you love this technique. Changing the embossing folders gives your cards a different look. Think of all of the possibilities with all of Stampin’ Up!’s different designer series papers. I’m sure you have a pile of scraps that would worth for this.

The stamp sentiments (A Bunch of Birthday Love to You, Thank You, Such Happy News, and Sorry You’re Feeling Blue), Designer Series Paper, and embossed sheets lend themselves well to a huge variety of designs and uses. Add your special touches with the ribbon included.

A refill is also available for $23.

Other Samples

The kit includes two sets of paper flowers. I colored the small flower with Stampin’ Up!’s Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend and added it to the sentiment with a Glue Dot. (Just think, you can make these flowers any color you wish with any of the variety of blends.) Card inspired by papercraftskies.

From here, my ideas spun to other sentiments. I really needed a few thinking of you cards.

Stampin’ Up!’s Boho Indigo Product Medley

Stampin' Up! Boho Indigo Product Medley

With the launch of Stampin’ Up!’s new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, I vowed to actually use what I purchase. Novel idea, right? Who doesn’t get caught up in the excitement of all the new supplies? Sometimes I don’t get a chance to use some awesome products. Not this time! The blues of Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy spoke to me with the Boho Indigo Product Medley. I’ve been working hard (and, really, it’s not that hard) to use all of the included elements. It’s such an awesome grouping of supplies. For $70, the kit includes:

  • 11-piece photopolymer stamp set (clear stamp blocks sold separately);
  • 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, 8 each of 6 double-sided designs;
  • Very Vanilla 6″ x 6″ dry embossed sheets, 2 each of 3 designs;
  • die cuts with gold foil accents, 2 sheets each of 3 designs;
  • Night of Navy 1/2″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, 10 yards;
  • Very Vanilla/gold 1/4″ Pleated Ribbon, 10 yards;
  • paper flowers, 20 each in 2 sizes;
  • 12-piece Boho Indigo Dies

The Card and Project

The “Sorry You’re Feeling Blue” sentiment works well with this month’s well wishes theme. I created a greeting card and mini standing Kleenex holder with the medley ingredients — with a few additional items (Gold Foil Sheets, Stitched Shapes, Layering Ovals and Cirlces) thrown in.

I grabbed the Kleenex holder idea from my friend, Bev, who makes a lot of things for craft shows.
