Be sure to watch the video below to learn about the Friendly Flamingo Mirror Technique.
Stampin’ Up!’s Stamparatus, a unique stamp positioning tool, is a must-have for any craft room. Its uses are many and varied. It:
helps you get the image straight every time;
allows you to re-stamp an image if it’s not dark enough or not all of it appeared;
makes it easy to create multiples quickly and easily;
is gentle on arthritic hands; and
lends itself to a variety of fun techniques such a hinge-step stamping, two-step stamping, the mirror/reflection technique and more.
Today’s card features the Friendly Flamingo stamp set and the Stamparatus. It’s a Valentine/love card using the mirror/reflection technique. Be sure to watch the attached video below.
The Stamparatus costs $49. With just an additional small purchase, you qualify for a free SaleABration item.

Since moving to Arizona more than a year and a half ago, I’ve become fascinated with the cactus here in the desert. The varieties amaze me as well as the different blooms each exhibits.
Imagine my excitement when I saw the Flowering Cactus Product Medley in Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. The stamp set, coordinating dies, and designer series paper make it easy to send tailored greetings from this part of the world. It sells for $70. A refill is also available.
So I just had to make a Valentine card using this fun medley.
Flowering Cactus Valentine Card
Old Olive base
Real Red layer cut at 4 1/2 x 3 1/4
Designer Series Paper cut at 3 x 3
Crumb Cake cut at 3 x 1 3/4
Old Olive strip measuring 3 3/4 inches x 3/4 inches and embossed with piece from die cuts
Heart stamped in Real Red and punched with Kiss Punch
Cactus stamped in Old Olive and die cut with coordinating die
Sentiment from Meant to Be stamp set (Annual Catalog) in Real Red ink
Here’s a cute little mini card love note created with the stamp set and dies. It fits perfectly in one of Stampin’ Up!’s 3 x 3 envelopes. Tuck it under someone’s pillow or in a lunch box.
Sale-A-Bration is Ongoing

Do you remember Valentine’s Day as a youngster? I folded a piece of red construction paper in half and cut the shape of the heart. And, then I decorated it and gave it away. Of course, I signed it with the obligatory “Love, Kim.”
I also remember decorating shoe boxes to collect the little Valentine cards we collected in school.
Paper crafting has certainly come a long way in the last fifty years! We have access to awesome rubber stamps, coordinating punches and die cuts, beautiful Designer Series Paper, and much more.
Valentine’s Day is one of the largest card-sending holidays of the year. Are you ready? Today I’m sharing a sampling of cards using a variety of current Stampin’ Up! product.
Also, enjoy the video inserted at the end of this blog post. I showcase an array of cards and make one with the Hearts & Kisses Bundle.
Memento Black, Rococo Rose, and Blushing Bride ink and card stock
From the mini catalog:
Hearts and Kisses stamp set
Kiss Punch
Love You Always Designer Series Paper
Love You Always Foil Sheets
Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon
Matte Black Dots
I heat embossed the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings with white embossing powder.
I did a bit of white heat embossing to make the sentiment pop.
For the background, I used the “splotch” from the Hearts & Kisses stamp set. I inked it in Blushing Bride and stamped “off” on scratch paper before making the background.
More white heat embossing to make the sentiment pop! Isn’t the foil paper gorgeous?
Take a look at this video that shares a bit more information about the card.
When we moved to Arizona from Nebraska more than fifteen months ago, we wanted to include cactus in our backyard. The landscaper refused. He said it was cliche, and he encouraged us to plant lantanas instead. (I really think he didn’t want to deal with the prickles!)
A month or so later, my husband discovers a teeny, tiny cactus growing in the front yard. After nearly being destroyed by the same landscapers, my hubby dug it up and planted it in this pot. He’s dutifully watered and tended it. Not that a cactus needs much water. But what do we know?
We have no idea what kind of cactus this may be. We can’t wait until it grows a little bigger.
In the meantime, I’m excited Stampin’ Up! is offering the Flowering Cactus Product Medley ($70) in its upcoming January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. These 2021 desktop calendars make great gifts. Easy to make, they can be adorned and embellished with any number of stamps, papers, dies, and/or punches.
