Something Fancy Card Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • STAMPS – Something Fancy Bundle (160425)

Cutting & Scoring:

  • Night of Navy Cardstock — 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded in half; scrap
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”, scrap
  • DSP – 5 ¼” x 4” (Petal Pink dotted design), 4 ¾” x 3 ½” (Balmy Blue dotted design), punched Petal Pink and Balmy Blue flowers from DSP
  • Ribbon – 20”

Instructions:

  • Stamp the thank you sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set in Night of Navy ink on the scrap piece of Basic White. Die cut with image shown above. At the same time, die cut the larger nesting image from the Night of Navy scrap. Adhere the two pieces together.
  • Glue the 4 ¾” x 3 ½” DSP to the 5 ¼” x 4” DSP.
  • Wrap the Night of Navy 3/8” Bordered Ribbon around this piece and tie a bow, fashioning it toward the left-hand side of the card.
  • Adhere all to the Night of Navy base.
  • With Stamin’ Dimensionals, add the sentiment to the card front, straddling the ribbon, snuggling the left side near the bow.
  • Add the punched flowers to the top left and bottom right of the sentiment with Glue Dots as shown above.
  • Using the Take Your Pick Tool, add the Night of Navy and Petal Pink Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot gems to the flower centers.
  • Glue the white cardstock to the inside of the card.

Here are a couple of other versions of this same greeting card. I just love how changing the Designer Series Paper designs gives the card just a little different look.

Petal Park Fun Fold

Hello, and welcome to the Stampers’ Dozen monthly blog hop. This month, we’re sharing handmade paper crafting projects created with bundles from Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Be sure to visit all of the stamping blogs and be inspired. This spring catalog offers so many great products, and you’ll see some of them featured throughout the hop created by talented stampers.

Today, I use the Petal Park Bundle (Petal Park stamp set and coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch) to create a fun fold thank-you card.

Petal Park Fun Fold

Petal Park Fun Fold

From the front, this card looks like a “regular” card. But it’s really a Z fold. Look below to see how it opens.

Stampin' Up! Petal Park Bundle

Here are a few details and measurements.

  • Night of Navy base measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
  • Regency Park Designer Series Paper measures 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Z fold portion measures 9 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. Score at 3 1/4″ and 6 1/2″
  • Basic White panels measure 4″ x 3″
  • Extra Regency Park Designer Series Paper measures 4″ x 3″

In addition, I used the thank you sentiment from the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set (earn this set free with a $100 purchase during Stampin’ Up!’s SaleABration promotion) and Mango Melody colored gems from the Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots.

The Petal Park stamp set features the two-step stamping technique. This means it takes two stamps to create the images. But the photopolymer design (see-through stamps) make it easy to line up the images. Be sure to watch the video below to get step-by-step instructions to see how this card comes together. Use a Stampin’ Pierce Mat to ensure you get a nice stamped image.

Sweetest Cherries Peekaboo Bags

Sweetest Cherries Peekaboo Bag

Isn’t Stampin’ Up!’s Sweetest Cherries just the cutest? The stamp set and punch combo make it an affordable purchase, as well as easy and versatile to use. Purchase them as a bundle and save 10 percent. Find them on page 19 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

Today, I paired the bundle with Stampin’ Up!’s Peekaboo Treat Bags. Find these on page 140 of Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. You receive 10 treat bags (five craft and five white) for $6.00. There are so many ways to dress these up. I’m just showing you one option. I added pieces of Designer Series Paper (pieces of Old Olive from the Regals 6 x 6 Paper Assortments). But you could stamp on them and add tags and die cuts.

I can see them work for special occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. But they would also work well as gift card holders and most especially sweet treats. I found a variety of fun, cherry flavored candies to put in these after decorating.

Be sure to watch the video to learn a fun technique using clear embossing powder. This technique gives the cherry a lifelike shine.

Sweetest Cherries Samples

Sweetest Cherries Samples

Cherry picking and eating season nears! And Stampin’ Up! has the perfect bundle to celebrate this popular fruit. Find the Sweetest Cherries Stamp Set and the Cherry Builder Punch (buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent) on page 19 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog

Although I’m just getting started playing with this bundle, I’m happy with this cute birthday card and coordinating treat packet. I selected the new 2022-2024 In Colors: Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, and Parakeet Party. (Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis round out this year’s new In Colors.)

I love that Stampin’ Up! offers a bunch of coordinating products to make creating easy and fun. Here are a few of the products I used to make the handmade card:

  • 2022-2024 In Color cad stock
  • 6 x 6 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper Assortments
  • 2022-2024 In Color 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper
  • Baker’s Twine Pack
  • Tahitian Tide ink
  • Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Blending Brush

Sweetest Cherries Mini Pocket Envelope

And, I had to include a cute treat packet made with some of the same supplies. Isn’t this super cute? I searched the grocery stores to find cherry flavored foods. The Mini Pocket Envelopes Dies make creating these a snap. Use a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ inch piece of patterned party and cut with the die in the Stampini’ Cut & Emboss. Fold, apply some tear and tape, and it’s ready to decorate. These little holders are perfect for treats and gift cards. See this blog post for other examples using this die.

Uniquely Artistic Card Samples

Uniquely Artistic Catalog CASE

Each new Stampin’ Up! catalog presents opportunities to play with new stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, embellishments, and more. The Uniquely Artistic stamp set is one of those new products. Find it on page 114 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I received it with my recent registration for a Stampin’ Up! virtual event. It’s one of my favorite things about being a demonstrator: receiving sneak peeks of new products.

UNIQUELY ARTISTIC PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET

When I received the set, I wasn’t quite sure where to start with a card design. So, I turned to the Annual Catalog and used the the samples within for inspiration.

I CASEd the above card from the catalog sample on page 115. It features the colors of Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron. I embossed the background piece with the Gingham Embossing folder.

Uniquely Artistic Card Samples

The two cards below use heat embossing as the main technique.

The card above uses a sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set punched with the Double Oval Punch. I grabbed the gorgeous piece of Designer Series Paper from the Abstract Beauty 6 x 6 package. (If you love this Designer Series Paper, order it now. It’s going to retire!)

Uniquely Artistic Card Samples

This beautiful card uses products from the Love & Happiness Bundle from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. Hint: This, too, is retiring, so grab it before it’s gone.
