Meandering Meadow Card Design

Meandering Meadow Card Design

There’s no doubt Stampin’ Up! offers the most gorgeous Designer Series Paper in the industry. Not only does Stampin’ Up! give us a wide array of 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 designs, the variety of images and patterns provide so many options for our paper crafting projects. Sometimes, it’s difficult to choose which side of the paper to use.

Today, I’m sharing a card layout that allows you to use both sides. This works especially well for the 6 x 6 scenery paper, including the Meandering Meadows 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. It’s one of the Online Exclusives. Let me know if I can help you order this beautiful paper.

Take a look at the inside of this card.

Here are a few details to help you understand how this card comes together:

  • Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/2 x 6. Score 1 3/4 inches in from the right-hand side.
  • Coordinating solid card stock color measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. (I used Shaded Spruce for this card.)
  • Basic White card stock measuring 5 1/2 x 2 1/4
  • Any sentiment and embellishments for card front. I used Layering Leaves, Shaded Spruce, the Heartfelt Hexagon punch, Linen Thread, and the Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds.

Welcome to Team Stamp It’s April Blog Hop! Thanks so much for joining us. Be sure to visit all of the blogs on the hop. Leave a comment for a chance to win a Confetti Birthday Card Kit.

This month, we feature cards and projects with a Mother’s Day theme. Today, I share a handmade greeting card using the fractured card technique or faux shutter technique.

Mother’s Day Fractured Card Technique

Mother's Day Fractured Card Technique

There are several ways to accomplish this technique. I chose the simplest. Here are some basic measurements to get you started.

  • Basic Black cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/5
  • Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4 x 4 (I used the retiring Delightfully Eclectic, but many other patterned papers work well)
  • Four cardstock strips matching your card base measuring 5 1/2 x 1/4
  • A Basic White square (I die cut mine with the Stylish Shapes Dies)
  • Sentiment and ink of choice (I used the “So Happy to Celebrate You from the Layering Leaves stamp set for the outside and the Happy Mother’s Day from Perennial Lavender for the inside. Flowers come from Petal Park stamp set.)

2024-2026 In Color Treat Packets

In today’s post, I showcase some quick and easy treat packets featuring Stampin’ Up!’s new In Colors.

Here are a few measurements to help you get started. Be sure to watch the video below (a Facebook live replay). I give step-by-step directions from my craft room in Mesa, Arizona, to help you make these at home.

  • Solid color card stock measuring 10 x 3 1/4, scored and folded at 1, 4 3/4, and 6 1/4
  • Coordinating pieces of Designer Series paper measuring 3 x 3 1/2 (2) and one measuring 3/4 x 3
  • A sentiment. For these packets, I used the “hello” from the Layering Leaves stamp set heat embossed with white and punched with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch
  • Coordinating ribbon

I love that I can use so many other patterned papers and sentiments. These treat packets also work as gift packaging for different holidays.

View of card laying flat

Each month, I host a virtual team meeting for all levels of my Stampin’ Up! team of Kim’s Paper Krafters. We celebrate birthdays and acknowledge Stampin’ Up! anniversaries, promotions, and achievements; catch up on Stampin’ Up! news and promotions; and create a mystery stamping project.

Today, I’m sharing our April mystery card. It’s called the Book Binding Z Fold, and it’s something I found on YouTube and Pinterest. It uses Stampin’ Up!’s Simply Zinnia stamp set and the Flowering Zinnias 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. These products are part of Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives, a large selection of products found only on the online store. Visit the store often to see what’s there.
