Snowflake Vellum Christmas Card

Snowflake Vellum Christmas Card

I’ve had this gorgeous Snowflake 12 x 12 Specialty Vellum sitting in my craft room for months. It’s time to use it! (Find it on page 40 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.) For $10, you receive six sheets, two each of three designs, including iridescent foil and white flocking.

On this Christmas card, I use a piece of the Snowflake Vellum with the foil details. I’ve let the beautiful paper do most of the work. I layered it on a piece of Silver Foil and added a sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set, heat embossed with silver, and die cut with a label from the Labels Aglow Dies. In addition, I topped it off with a ribbon created with the silver elegant trim and Basic Pearls colored with Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.

Crafting Tip

Sometimes it’s tricky adhering vellum to a card front — especially a piece this large. You have to try to hide the Glue Dots or adhesive underneath some of the front elements.

For this card, I cut a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Adhesive Sheets to just under 5 x 3 3/4 inches (the size of the vellum layer). I adhered the sheet to the back of the vellum and then layered it on a piece of Silver Foil measuring 5 1/4 x 4 inches. The rest was easy. Just embellish the front and send!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Be sure to check out all the other stampers and leave a comment with the hashtag #stampitcontest.

Celebrate Everything Christmas Card

Celebrate Everything Christmas Card

Looking for a quick and easy card design? Today’s handmade greeting card fits that request perfectly. I was inspired by a swap card I received at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event this last weekend. This layout and design lends itself to all occasions and all Designer Series Paper packages. (Thank you to Donna Johnson for the inspiration.)

Celebrate Everything Christmas Card

Here are some details:

  • Thick Basic White card stock measures 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches and is scored at 4 1/4 inches
  • Shaded Spruce layer measures 5 1/4 inches x 4 inches
  • Basic White piece (5 inches x 3 3/4 inches) embossed with the Whimsical Woodland Embossing Folder
  • Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper measures 1 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 inches — two pieces
  • Shaded Spruce layers are cut at 1 3/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches — two pieces
  • Basic White for sentiment is 2 3/8 x 1 inch and Shaded Spruce layer is 2 5/8 inches x 1 1/4 inches
  • Sentiment in Polished Pink from the Framed & Festive Stamp Set
  • Colored Pearl Basic Jewels with Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends

The “falala” sentiment adds a fun and whimsical element to this creation. It comes from Stampin’ Up!’s Framed & Festive stamp set. This set is a special release and is only available through January 4, 2023, or while supplies last.

Leaf Fall 3D Folder Samples

Leaf Fall 3D Folder Samples

Raise your hand if you love the changing colors of the leaves in the fall? (I love the sight of them, but I don’t miss the cold weather now that I live in Arizona.) Stampin’ Up!’s Leaf Fall 3D Folder is a perfect fit for fall card-making projects. Find it on page 53 of the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. For just $10, it packs a wallop. The folder itself stands out as a main element. In this post, I show a few ways you can use it in your fall paper crafting projects. I feel it works well for any fall occasion — from birthdays to weddings to thinking of you cards to thank you notes.

Blending Brush Technique

Here are some details about the above card:

  • Start with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring 5 inches x 3 3/4 inches.
  • Run this through the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder and your Stampin’ Cut  Emboss machine.
  • With Blending Brushes, apply a combination of Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry.
  • Stamp a sentiment from the Lovely You set with Cherry Cobber ink on Very Vanilla card stock.
  • Punch sentiment with Double Oval Punch, as well as a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the scallop.
  • Attach the embossed piece to Cherry Cobbler measuring 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches.
  • Wrap 18 inches of Gold & Vanilla 3/8-inch Satin-Edge Ribbon around this panel and tie a bow.
  • Pop up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Attach to a Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock base.
  • Add Champagne Rhinestone Jewels.

Copper Foil Card

Leaf Fall 3D Folder Samples

For a really elegant look, choose any of Stampin’ Up!’s foil papers to emboss with the folder. You get gorgeous results. The card above uses Copper Foil. I heat embossed a sentiment (from the Art Gallery stamp set) with copper embossing powder. Imagine your pretty card with gold and silver foils, too.

I layered the embossed foil on a piece of black card stock and onto a Soft Suede base.

Very Vanilla with Colored Ribbon

Stampin' Up! Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder

This folder creates quick and easy cards. I just used Very Vanilla card stock to create this striking card. It’s layered on Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and a Basic Black card base. Color the Stampin’ Up!’s Black and White Gingham Ribbon with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to this celebrate card.

Amazing Silhouettes Emboss Resist

Welcome to Team Stamp It’s November Blog Hop. We’re so glad you joined us. This month, we focus on Thanksgiving-themed handmade greeting cards and projects. Amazing Silhouettes Emboss Resist

Amazing Silhouettes Emboss Resist Technique

Thanksgiving brings to mind fall and the changing foliage colors. (In Arizona, we see some changing foliage, but not as much as North Dakota and Minnesota where I grew up.) Today’s card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Amazing Silhouettes stamp set and introduces the Emboss Resist technique. A little sponging makes this tree come alive. Check out the how-to video below to watch how I created this handmade card.

Here are a few details of how this handmade card comes together:

  • Start with Shimmery White card stock measuring 2 1/2 inches by 5 1/4 inches.
  • Rub the Embossing Buddy along the paper to remove any static (Note: find this and other embossing tools–Embossing Additions Tool Kit–on page 49 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December Mini Catalog.)
  • Ink the tree stamp from Amazing Silhouettes with Versarmark and stamp on the Shimmery White.
  • Pour White Embossing Powder on the image, tapping off the excess.
  • Heat with Heat Tool until shiny.
  • Use Sponge Daubers to gently apply desired ink colors. I used Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry. Wipe excess ink with a paper towel.
  • Afix this piece to a Crushed Curry piece measuring 5 1/4 inches by 2 5/8 inches.
  • Add sentiment of choice (I used greetings from the Art Gallery stamp set) and Linen Thread. Any sentiment works for this card including Happy Thanksgiving. You can also use this card design for October and November birthdays.
  • With Stampin’ Dimensionals, pop this panel up on a 5 1/4 inch x 4 inch Cherry Cobbler card stock embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Attach to Cherry Cobbler card base.
  • Add Champagne Rhinestone Jewels
