Welcome to the Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop where I’m featuring Stampin’ Up!’s Perfectly Plaid stamp set for a handmade greeting card and easy gift card holder.
Thanks for joining us on our monthly blog hop. The theme this month is “anything goes.” That fits perfectly with my theme this month. Be sure to visit all of the hops on the blog and leave comments.
For this card, I used the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and coordinating Pine Tree Punch. The set and punch carried over from last year’s Holiday Catalog. Now, we can get a jump start on our holiday greeting card making with this awesome and popular duo.
Stampin’ Friends: Perfectly Plaid Card
In addition to the the stamp set and punch, here are some of the Stampin’ Up! products used to create this card:
2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (Just Jade)
Playful Pets Designer Series Paper
Real Red card stock and Classic Stampin’ Pad
Just Jade Classic Stampin’ Pad
Red Rhinestones
This is a clean and simple and easy-to-create card. See the end of the post to purchase the products used to create this card.
Perfectly Plaid Gift Coordinating Card Holder
Gift card holders are a popular item for the holidays. I created a coordinating holder using the same products as the card above. To create the holder base, start with a piece of card stock measuring 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Score at 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″. Fold the bottom piece up, adhering just the sides of the card stock with Tear and Tape to make a pocket for the gift card. I used small Velcro dots to the flap down. Decorate any way you wish.

Playing with Stampin’ Up!’s Daisy Lane stamp set, the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box, and Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.
In the last week, I’ve been on a binge creating fun projects with Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes. I love the versatility and the ability to decorate in a number of ways. A package of 10 sells for $7.50. And, they hold a variety of different items.
See this previous post about sponging the boxes: Sending Sunshine
Did you know the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box are a perfect fit for Stampin’ Up!’s note cards and envelopes? These pre-cut and scored card bases (20 for $7) offer a way to create quick and easy cards. Look for them in Whisper White and Very Vanilla. Wouldn’t these make a great hostess gift? Or a fun set to send in the mail?
I decorated the box with the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper and created coordinating cards to go inside. The Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating Daisy Punch made this project quick and easy.
August Paper Pumpkin
The Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes are inspired by Stampin’ Up!’s full-size version of its monthly crafting kit, Paper Pumpkin. Each month, subscribers receive a one-of-a-kind crafting experience all tucked into a box delivered to your mailbox. The kits contain and exclusive stamp set, a mini ink pad, and the ingredients to create that month’s project. In a month’s time, you’ll have collected twelve different stamp sets and twelve different mini ink pads you can use to create your own handmade greeting cards.
Subscribe by August 10 to receive August’s kit: Celebrate the World’s Greatest. This kit focuses on the everyday heroese—they’ve always surrounded us! Teachers, doctors, hairdressers, nurses, delivery workers, cashiers, and even our friends, kids, and family members go above and beyond to enrich our lives. These people are truly the world’s greatest at what they do!
This kit allows you to create nine handmade greeting cards with coordinating envelopes for just $22 + tax (shipping is included).
Had a lot of fun with the Playful Pets suite and Mini Paper Pumpkin Box.
I love, love, love all of the elements in Stampin’ Up!’s Playful Pets Suite. We didn’t have a dog or cat growing up. (We kept rabbits as pets!) But as soon as my sisters and I moved out of the house, my parents purchased a dog, a Brittany Spaniel named Dirk. Then, slowly, my sisters and I became dog owners.
We had a Basset Hound called Max, and my sister, Kara, owns a Boston Terrior named Reggie. My son’s girlfriend has Stan, a Yorkie. So, the dog-themed stamp set (Pampered Pets), the coordinating dies (Pets Dies), and the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper spoke to me.
Playful Pets Mini Paper Pumpkin Box
And, what fun to combine it with Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes and the Playful Alphabet to create fun treat packing. I started with Stan, the Yorkie. The Designer Series Paper includes an image of a Yorkie. I cut that out with the small oval from the Stitched Shapes and layered it with selections from the layered ovals. So cute!
Here’s a picture of Stan!
I didn’t want Reggie to feel left out. So I used the Playful Alphabet to die cut the letters to spell “woof.” Super cute, isn’t it? I’ve put little dog treats and poop bags inside.
Now, here’s a picture of Reggie when he was a puppy. Who can resist that cute little face?
I appreciate being able to create fun and whimsical cards and treats for friends and family. These Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes are perfect for lots of ideas. Each package contains 10 boxes for $7.50. See this post for the box of sunshine I recently created. (Be sure to check it out. There’s also a quick Facebook Live replay.)
Find the Playful Pets Suite beginning on page 40 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. And, no worries, if you’re a cat lover, this suite has images for you, too.
Leave a comment about your favorite pet — yours or someone else’s — and I’ll draw for one winner to receive one of these fun handmade boxes. Deadline to comment is July 27.

Today, I’m showing you how I’m sending sunshine Stampin’ Up! style!
In case you hadn’t heard, a new trend is here: Sharing Sunshine (#ShareSushine). You fill a box with any yellow items you can find, and send it to someone to let them know you’re thinking of them. Stampin’ Up!’s June monthly crafting kit, Paper Pumpkin, focused on sharing sunshine. The kit contents, delivered in a bright yellow box, contained cards that featured sunshine and caring. We created the cards and decorated the box and sent it to a friend.
Unfortunately, the kit sold out. But you can still share sunshine using Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes. A package of 10 boxes costs just $7.50. Decorate them any way you like, fill with goodies, and send.
Sending Sunshine
The boxes come in plain white. I colored the box above with Stampin’ Up!”s Sponge Brayers and Balmy Blue ink, layering on the ink until I received the desired look. I didn’t strive for a perfect solid color; I wanted it to look like sky with a few wispy clouds overhead.
To create the sun, I used the Stitched Shapes Dies (large circle) and the Stitched Triangles (itty bitty triangle) to die cut the images from one sheet of the Playful Patterns 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. I stamped the sentiment from the June Paper Pumpkin directly on the box using Memento ink. Don’t have that stamp set? Stampin’ Up!’s Under My Umbrella and Sending Sunshine also have sayings appropriate for a box of sunshine.
I added a piece of yellow tissue paper and a handful of fun, yellow items. Ready to send to a friend!
Take a look at this YouTube video showing how I created the box. (It’s a replay of a Facebook Live.)
Bonus Days are Back

Happy Fourth
The 4th of July doesn’t rate as one of the top card-sending holidays. But, why not? I have the supplies, so make the card and send it.
I used a bunch of Stampin’ Up! products to make this festive and celebratory card come together:
Poppy Parade, Misty Moonlight, and Whisper White Card Stock
Flowers for Every Season 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper
Nature’s Thoughts Dies
Stitched Stars Dies
Comfort and Hope Stamp Set
Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set
Classic Label Punch
Misty Moonlight Classic Stamp Pad
Treat Favor
Headed to a party? Give this cute 4th of July treat to a party hostess. Or make a bunch for your own party guests. I decorated one of Stampin’ Up!’s Clear Tiny Treat Boxes and filled them with holiday themed jelly beans.
These 2 x 2 Clear Acetate Boxes make perfect receptacles for a variety of treats. I used the same supplies for this package as the card. I added the Misty Moonlight In Color Ribbon to top off the package.
All of the supplies used to create both the card and the treat package are found in Stampin’ Up!’s new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
