At first glance, Stampin’ Up!’s Bright & Beautiful Suite looks like it only makes birthday cards. It does work well for creating birthday cards, but, I found it perfect for other occasions, too.
It’s that time of year to celebrate graduations of all kinds — from kindergarten, high school, college, and more. In today’s post, I share a handmade graduation card using elements from this brand-new suite. Find it beginning on page 14 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. Be sure to watch the video (a Facebook live replay) to see step-by-step instructions for creating this card.
The sentiments “You Did It” and “Yay You” work perfectly to celebrate any and all achievements.
Here’s a breakdown of measurements and products:
- Basic Black cardstock: 11 x 5 1/4, scored at 5 1/2: 5 1/4 x 4; 2 1/2 x 3/4
- Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4 x 2 1/2
- Gold Foil: 5 1/4 x 1/2 (2), a piece to die cut the large balloon (Beautiful Balloons Dies)
- Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, and Versamark to create sentiment (Beautiful Balloons stamp set)
- Simply Elegant Trim (gold)
- Basic White: 5 1/4 x 4 (inside of card)
The Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP adds a pop of fun into this card. You get three 12 x 12 sheets of different “celebrating” designs. I used just a small piece to make these great paper go a long way.
Below, I made another one of these in silver. I just flipped over the Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP. It works! I’m not sure if there is an official color for graduation cards? Would you choose gold or silver? With this design, you could also add colored card stock that matches the graduate’s school colors.

I hope you’re enjoying Stampin’ Up!’s new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog! Sometimes, it takes awhile to discover all of the really fun and cool paper crafting products offered. The Mini Pocket Envelope dies present a lot of possibilities. Find this one in the back of the catalog on page 172.You can use any Designer Series Paper, almost any stamp set, and an array of embellishments with the die set to make handmade creations.
My first thoughts ran to treat packet holders. Then, I saw gift card holders — as a stand-alone project and as an attachment to a card. Use them for graduations, weddings, birthdays, and Christmas.
Today, I share a couple of versions of this with you. I know there are so many options!
The pocket can be used alone or on the front of a card.
This die is perfect for a graduation gift card holder.
Let’s not forget Christmas gift card holders.
I hope you enjoy these projects. Be sure to watch the video (a Facebook Live replay from May 17, 2022) to see how i created these holders.

Paper crafting lends itself to a variety of gift card designs. I’ve shared several different varieties in past blog posts. Check them out here and here.
Today, I offer yet a another design. I grabbed this idea from two of my team members who made cards for our recent team gathering. The card below features a sentiment from the Slim Sayings stamp set and the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, both found in Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.
Graduation Gift Card Holder Cutting Directions
- Start by cutting a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock in half the long way. You have a piece that measures 11 x 4 1/4.
- Score this piece at 1 1/4 inches and 5 1/2 inches.
- Fold the card in half and then fold the small piece “inside” the card to form a place to hold the gift card.
- Decorate accordingly.
Watch the video at the end of this post to see how this one comes together.
The wedding gift card holder above uses Stampin’ Up!’s Love & Happiness Bundle. I love the Gold Foil and the heat embossing for this card.

Even though many schools have cancelled or postponed graduations, it’s still important to recognize the seniors. I’m sharing a graduation card featuring Stampin’ Up!’s Darling Label Punch Box
. It’s an awesome “kit” that includes a six-piece, photopolymer stamp set with a great variety of sentiments, a clear stamp block, a punch, and two Stampin’ Spots. And, the best part: it’s packaged in a beautiful gold and Night of Navy tin, perfect for storing stamping supplies or for gifting.
Today’s Congratulations Card for Graduates
This graduation card uses one stamp from the set – one perfect for celebrating graduates. I heat embossed it with silver and layered it on Silver Foil (die cut with the Stitched Shapes Die) and a Pearlized Doily. The background papers come from the 6 x 6 Neutrals Designer Series Paper pack.
One hint: I didn’t have any black ribbon so I colored the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon with the Black Stampin’ Blend. You can use this trick with any of the blends and Stampin’ Up!’s Silver or Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
