I was fortunate to celebrate a birthday at the end of January. And I enjoyed receiving a ton of cards in the mail. Many of them came from my paper crafting friends. They are all so beautiful. (Watch the video below to see some of the cards I received.)
I decided to re-create one of the cards using Stampin’ Up!’s Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper. Earn it free during SaleABration for a minimum order (before tax and shpping). Offers ends February 28.
This paper screams fun and happiness and can be used in many ways.
Today, I share three different cards with the same layout using this awesome package of Designer Series Paper. Receive forty-eight sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.
Sunshine & Rainbows Birthday Card
Die cut three pieces of patterned paper with the the Stitched Rectangle Dies. If you don’t have these dies, just use your paper trimmer to cut the rectangles yourself.
Layer them on a piece of card stock measuring 4 x 2 inches.
Then place this piece on a 5 1/4 x 4 inch of Designer Series Paper.
Tie a ribbon around this before placing on your card front.
Add a sentiment of your choice.
I choose the Happy Birthday from Stampin’ Up!’s Special Moments stamp set. (Earn this free with a $100 purchase — before tax and shipping — during SaleABration — through February 28, 2022.)
It’s so easy and so fun to change the look and feel of the card with all of the different patterns.

Since moving to Arizona more than two years ago, I’ve gained a newfound love for everything cactus. In my head, I imagined that deserts and cactus were dry and dull. This is far from true. The majestic saguaros are absolutely amazing. And in the spring, the cactus come alive with blooms of many and various colors.
When Stampin’ Up! releases a new cactus stamp set, I’m sure to place it in my collection. I love the Cactus Cuties Bundle that includes the Cactus Cuties Stamp Set and Cactus Builder Punch. Buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent. Find it on pages 66 and 67 of Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.
Thanks to Brayce Campagna for giving me the inspiration for the card above.

The card featured above uses the Friendly Hello stamp set and Friendly Hello 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. Get this combo free with a $100 order (before tax and shipping). What a card combination.
I used the components to create a pocket card. Here are some basic directions for creating the pocket card. (Be sure to watch the video below for step-by-step instructions). Read below to see a few more samples of this fun card design.
Friendly Hello Pocket Card
Form the base with a piece of Pool Party card stock that measures 11 x 4 1/4 inches. Score at 1 1/4 inches and 5 1/2 inches.
Round the edges with the Detailed Trio Punch.
Fold the card in half, and then fold the small piece down toward you.
Adhere a piece of the patterned paper measuring 4 x 3 inches to the bottom. Glue another design measuring 1 4 x 4 inches on the small flap.
With Tear and Tape, as close to each edge as possible. form the pocket. Tape the small flap down.
Decorate with any stamp sets, dies, and inks you like. For this card, I stamped the Hello Friend sentiment in Memento Ink and die cut with a shape from the Tasteful Labels Dies. Add embellishments such as ribbons and jewels.
Card insert: Colored, coordinating card stock border piece measures 5 x 3 inches and the Basic White measures 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
This pocket card uses two additional free SaleABration products: Catching Butterflies stamp set and Simply Marbelous 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.
The above card uses the free SaleABration Daffodil Afternoon 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper and the medium daisy punch. Sentiment comes from the Catching Butterflies SaleABration stamp set.
Another pocket card. This one uses the free SaleABation Sunshine & Rainbows 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The sentiment comes from the Special Moments stamp set (free during SaleABration with a $100 order before tax and shipping).

I started playing with Stampin’ Up!’s Hey Sports Fan Suite last week, and I’ve already used a whole package of the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. Once I got stamping and creating, the ideas just kept coming. Find this awesome collection of products in Stampin’ Up!’ January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. See this post for additional card samples, ideas, and a video.
Your Biggest Fan Birthday
The card above uses a fun embossing technique.
cut a piece of the baseball-looking paper from the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper at 5 x 3 3/4 and the die cut it using Stampin’ Up!’s Picture This Dies. The circles remind me of baseballs!
pop the circles out and glue the circles onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock measuring 5 x 3 3/4 inches.
run this whole piece through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine in the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
add the sentiment (stamped in Night of Navy) from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set
layer on a piece of Poppy Parade card stock measuring 5 1/4 x 4
tie the red/white baker’s twine
include some of the fun Resin Star embellishments.
It’s a fun technique that just gives the card a different look. Here’s a close up look.
One feature I love about the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper is that many of the sheets include images you can die cut with the Sports Events Dies. I used the coordinating dies to get all of the images. With the pile on my crafting space, I grabbed pieces to create cards and all fun elements. The card above shows how I used some of the fun “ticket” pieces to make a birthday card.
Here’s one more card sample that shows the use of the tickets die cut from the designer series paper.
Here’s another card sample using the tickets die cut from the designer series paper.
Sports Event Dies (purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle and save 10 percent)
Fan Baker’s Twine (one spool each of Evening Evergreen, Night of Navy, and Poppy Parade/white)
Resin Stars Embellishments.
Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper (love, love, love this paper. I especially love the the coordinating dies cut images directly from the DSP. It makes it handy to have lots of pieces to craft with).
I’ve had so much fun with this collection of products. I hope you’ve enjoyed the samples as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.
