Christmas Card with Perfectly Plaid

I love many things about Stampin’ Up! products. That includes its complementary products like stamp sets with coordinating punches. (Stampin’ Up!’s awesome color coordination also rates at the top of my list!)

This stamp set, Perfectly Plaid, pairs with the Pine Tree Punch. It makes creating handmade greeting cards quick and easy.

Find this Perfectly Plaid stamp set on page 60 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Look for the Pine Tree Punch on page 166.

Banner Year Christmas Card

A Christmas card using Stampin’ Up!’s Banner Year stamp set.

Banner Year Christmas Card

I chose Stampin’ Up!’s Banner Year photopolymer stamp set as one of my first purchases. Look for it on page 65 of the August-December Mini Catalog. I purchased it because it includes both sentiments for a host of holidays. It works for Halloween, fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. It’s worth the $17 investment. Purchase it in a bundle with the Banners Pick a Punch and receive a 10 percent discount on the pair.

This card also features a fun fold. Be sure to watch the video below showing how I created this card.

I also used these additional products to make it:

  • Heartwarming Hug Designer Series Paper
  • Real Red 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon
  • Layering Circles Dies
  • Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Real Red Card Stoick
  • Old Olive and Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pads

Christmas Gleaming #simplestamping

Sharing a card using Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas Gleaming stamp set and #simplestamping.

Christmas Gleaming #simplestamping

Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. In September, it calls for stamps, ink, paper, and punches with a holiday theme to create a card that’s easily made with just a few products. The idea is to go back to the very basics of making handmade greeting cards. Hand-stamped cards don’t have to have a trillion layers with a ton of embellishments to be beautiful and heartfelt.

By nature, I see myself  as a #simplestamper. I love to make clean and simple cards that anyone can re-create on their own at home. When I attended my first stamping presentation more than 22 years ago, we could only watch as the demonstrator showed us how to use the products. It looked like so much fun. But, I seriously questioned my skill level.

Not at all crafty, I was the kid who rushed through every art project just to be the first one finished. Surely, the projects weren’t quite refrigerator worthy. I was the kid who sat under the table at a craft show, not allowed to touch anything. I didn’t think rubber stamping and crafting were meant for me. But, the demonstrator was so kind. She said: “It’s handmade. It doesn’t have to be perfect.” From that day, I’ve taken her words to heart. That’s how I craft and teach my classes. I love the joy I see when someone makes their first handmade card, and it was easy peasy.

Stampin’ Up! first introduced the Christmas Gleaming Bundle in its 2019 Holiday Card. The suite of products was so popular, they brought it back for another year. That doesn’t happen very often. You now get a second chance to get your hands on this fun products.

  • Very Vanilla Notecards and Envelopes
  • Christmas Gleaming stamp set
  • Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack

Tree Angle Gift Card Holder

Today’s post shares a fun Tree Angle gift card holder. Be sure to watch the video for detailed instructions and techniques.

Tree Angle Gift Card Holder

As the holidays approach, we’re starting to shop for gifts for loved ones and friends. Gift cards rate as popular go-to items each year. I’m sharing a fun and festive way to present and send those gift cards. This card fits in one of Stampin’ Up!’s regular-size envelopes.

Today’s card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Tree Angle stamp set, Stitched Triangles, and Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper. I also added the gorgeous Red & Green Foil sheets.

Basically, this Tree Angle Gift Card Holder card starts as a full-size card. Using the Stampin’ Trimmer, I cut a piece out of the front. It leaves a gate flap on the bottom.

Here’s a photo of the inside of the card.

You can see that the gift card slides into the front flap. The right side gives you space to write a message.

Here are the measurements for the different pieces of designer series paper used here. You can change up the design using the many different varieties of patterned paper offered by Stampin’ Up!

And, here is a YouTube video (a Facebook live replay) showing you step-by-step how to create this card. Please let me know if you have any questions.

One Stamp Set, One Sketch, Three Different Cards

Today, I’m sharing three very different cards with two things in common: Stampin’ Up!’s Banner Year stamp set and a cool (fun fold) card sketch. The stamp set is found in Stampin’ Up!’s August-December 2020 Mini Catalog on page 65.

I chose this stamp set because of its versatility. It includes sentiments for everything from Halloween, to fall, to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.
