Beauty of Friendship for Fall Card
My card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Beauty of Friendship stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Trees Dies. Buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent. Find these on page 11 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. (Hint: When you purchase this bundle you qualify for a free SaleABration item — through September 30. You could choose the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper I used on today’s card.)
Fall cards offer the perfect time to bring out the baby wipe technique. That’s how I created the multi-colored foliage image of the tree.
Baby Wipe Technique
This technique is super fun and super easy. Lay a couple of baby wipes on a flat surface. Stampin’ Up!’s Silicone Mat works well as does wax paper. Drip drops of ink from Stampin’ Up!’s reinkers onto the baby wipes. I used fall colors I like such as Mango Melody, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Cajun Craze. The ink spreads as you randomly drop the ink onto the wipe. Be sure to fill in any blank spots.
Then, press your stamp onto the baby wipes, using it as an ink pad. Then stamp the image onto your card stock. You can reuse this “pad” many times to make the most out of your ink. I often move the stamp around on the wipe to get different color patterns. Be sure to experiment with different colors and patterns to get the look you like.
Ink spritzing is another fun technique. I love the sparkle of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. (Get it free with a $50 purchase — before tax and shipping — during SaleABration while supplies last). But, I wanted a different color. So I added it myself.
I poured 91 percent rubbing alcohol into one of Stampin’ Up!’s spritzers and added six drops of Cajun Craze reinker. Then, I sprayed my thin strips of Be Dazzling paper. Just think of all the different colors you could use!
Be sure to watch the below video to see how this card came together.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to visit all of the blogs and leave a comment for a chance to win a free card kit. Congrats to last month’s winner: Elizabeth Paulus.

The Textures & Frames photopolymer stamp set is just one of the choices available during this sale.It lends itself well to the creation of backgrounds.
The card at the top showcases Stampin’ Up!’s #simplestamping. Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. This month we create a handmade greeting using just rubber stamps, ink, and paper with SaleABration products. I used the coordinating colors of Poppy Parade, So Saffron, and Pacific Point to create this bright and cheery birthday card.
I paired the images from the Textures & Frames stamp set with Stampin’ Up!’s Sunny Sentiments stamp set found on page 38 of the Annual Catalog. The sentiments included in this set cover most of the occasions for which I send cards. (Be sure to watch the video at the end of this post to see how this card is created. It’s a Facebook Live replay. I go live each Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time. Join me!)

I love the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper, especially the side of the paper without the penguins. Weird, right? But, the colors lend themselves to so many projects.
See this post for cards created with the Delicate Dahlias stamp set and the Penguin Playmates DSP.
Please enjoy this free Penguin Playmates Christmas Card Tutorial.

Cutting & Scoring:
- Fresh Freesia – 8 ½” x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼”, 3 ½” x 3 ½”
- Soft Sea Foam – 3 ½” x 3 ½”
- Basic White, 5 ¼” x 4”, scrap
- DSP – 2 ½” x 5”, 1 ¼” x 5”
- Ribbon – 6“, 3”
- With Gorgeous Grape ink, stamp the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set onto a Basic White scrap. Die cut with the rectangle label from the Beautiful Trees Dies.
- Die cut the 3 ½” x 3 ½” Fresh Freesia card stock with the largest circle from the Layering Circle Dies and the largest scallop on the 3 ½” x 3 ½” Soft Sea Foam card stock. Adhere these together.
- With adhesive of choice, place the two DSP pieces onto the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White card stock, as shown above, with the 1 ¼” piece on the left and the 2 ½” piece placed right next to it, leaving a small white border around.
- Place a Glue Dot on each end of the 6” piece of ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the above layer and affix Glue Dots in the back.
- With adhesive of choice, attach this piece to the front of Fresh Freesia 8 ½” x 5 ½” card stock that’s been folded in half to create a base.
- Place one Glue Dot in the center of the snowflake. (Note: there is a shiny side and a matte side to the snowflake. I like the shiny side to face up.) Center the snowflake on the circle.
- Pop up the snowflake circle on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Put two or three Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the sentiment and place on top of the snowflake, near the bottom.
- Tuck the 3” piece of ribbon underneath the ribbon on the card and tie a knot, as shown above.

Penguin Playmates Christmas Card Tutorial Supplies
I love Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration sale! When I first began stamping, I saved my Christmas cash and birthday money. I splurged during Sale-A-Bration and earned all of the offerings as well as the hostess sets. In past years, this sale occurred just once a year. Now, it’s two times each year. Two times to earn free paper crafting products with minimum orders. That’s exciting!
Last week, I played with the Counting Sheep stamp set and Sheep Dies. See that post here. This week, I focus on the Delicate Dahlias stamp set. It’s so gorgeous. The sentiments work perfectly for a variety of occasions. Grab this set free with a $100 purchase (before tax and shipping).
The card above also features the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (available free with a $50 order before tax and shipping).
Here’s a closer look at the stamp set.
