Today, I’m showing you how I’m sending sunshine Stampin’ Up! style!
In case you hadn’t heard, a new trend is here: Sharing Sunshine (#ShareSushine). You fill a box with any yellow items you can find, and send it to someone to let them know you’re thinking of them. Stampin’ Up!’s June monthly crafting kit, Paper Pumpkin, focused on sharing sunshine. The kit contents, delivered in a bright yellow box, contained cards that featured sunshine and caring. We created the cards and decorated the box and sent it to a friend.
Unfortunately, the kit sold out. But you can still share sunshine using Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes. A package of 10 boxes costs just $7.50. Decorate them any way you like, fill with goodies, and send.
Sending Sunshine
The boxes come in plain white. I colored the box above with Stampin’ Up!”s Sponge Brayers and Balmy Blue ink, layering on the ink until I received the desired look. I didn’t strive for a perfect solid color; I wanted it to look like sky with a few wispy clouds overhead.
To create the sun, I used the Stitched Shapes Dies (large circle) and the Stitched Triangles (itty bitty triangle) to die cut the images from one sheet of the Playful Patterns 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. I stamped the sentiment from the June Paper Pumpkin directly on the box using Memento ink. Don’t have that stamp set? Stampin’ Up!’s Under My Umbrella and Sending Sunshine also have sayings appropriate for a box of sunshine.
I added a piece of yellow tissue paper and a handful of fun, yellow items. Ready to send to a friend!
Take a look at this YouTube video showing how I created the box. (It’s a replay of a Facebook Live.)

Sharing a birthday card using Stampin’ Up!’s So Sentimental stamp set.
Yikes, I peeked at July’s calendar! A ton of birthdays popped up! And, two of them take place July 1.
What do you do when you need a bunch of cards in a hurry? You use a sketch, a blank sample, found online or on Pinterest. Then, you fill in the blanks. So easy!

By the Dock Summer
Some families camped. Some families visited Disneyland. Other families traveled to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore during summer vacation. Our family lived at the lake in Minnesota. A weekend stretched to a week, which became a month, and turned into spending three glorious months enjoying the lake life. We loved water skiing, floating on air mattresses, and seeing brilliant sunsets. (We try to forget battling those giant mosquitoes at night!)
Each morning, my sisters and I awoke and immediately dressed in our swimsuits. We spent the entire day on the dock, listening to music and reading what seemed like hundreds of books.
Stampin’ Up!’s By the Dock stamp set and coordinating dies bring back memories of those long, lazy days soaking up the sun and enjoying the water. I tried to recreate that scene with rubber stamps, ink, paper, and accessories.
Products I Used
I pulled together a few current Stampin’ Up! products to create this scene that takes me back to those idyllic Minnesota summers:
By the Dock stamp set
Dockside Dies
Under My Umbrella stamp set
Stitched Nested Labels
Layering Circles Dies
Stitched Shapes Dies
Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder
Shimmery White card stock water colored with Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight
What summer memories do you have? Share them in the comments. I’d love to hear.
Again, hop along to all of the blogs and comment on them all.
Congratulations to last month’s winner: Nancy Cox.
