You may have recently seen the “floating” greeting card technique while browsing Pinterest. A card shared by stamper Dr. Robin caught my eye. I followed her directions and created a Christmas card to make during a recent class. My ladies so enjoyed creating this card. I started to think. What other current products could I use to show this technique and make it my own?
Here are a few details about this handmade greeting card. Be sure to watch the how to video below to get visual instructions.
Real Red base: 11 x 4 1/4 inches, scored at 5 1/2 inches and folded in half
Soft Succulent card stock 5 1/4 x 4 embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder
Snowflake Specialty Vellum ( I used the flocked dots design) measuring 5 1/4 x 4
Adhesive Sheet measuring just under 5 1/4 x 4
Attach Adhesive Sheet to back of vellum. Die cut with Deckled Rectangle Dies.
Peel off adhesive back and layer on Soft Succulent.
Attach all to Real Red Card front.
With Stampin’ Seal +, attach little strips (2 inches by 1/2 inches) of red and white glimmer paper to two pieces of Window Sheet measuring 1 3/4 inches x 4 1/2 inches.
Die cut with candy cane dies. Be sure you have one of each candy canes that face in opposite directions.
Pop the candy canes up with dimensionals on card front.
Stamp sentiment in Real Red ink on a circle die cut from the Picture This dies.
Finish off with Red Rhinestone Jewels.

Welcome to Team Stamp It’s November Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here! This month, we feature Christmas and holiday handmade greeting cards and projects. Visit each blog on the hop to gather crafting inspiration and ideas. Be sure to leave a comment on each for a chance to win a Cozy & Bright card kit. Use the hashtag #stampitcontest. We’ll announce the winner next month.
Snowflake Vellum Christmas Card
I’ve had this gorgeous Snowflake 12 x 12 Specialty Vellum sitting in my craft room for months. It’s time to use it! (Find it on page 40 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.) For $10, you receive six sheets, two each of three designs, including iridescent foil and white flocking.
On this Christmas card, I use a piece of the Snowflake Vellum with the foil details. I’ve let the beautiful paper do most of the work. I layered it on a piece of Silver Foil and added a sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set, heat embossed with silver, and die cut with a label from the Labels Aglow Dies. In addition, I topped it off with a ribbon created with the silver elegant trim and Basic Pearls colored with Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.
Crafting Tip
Sometimes it’s tricky adhering vellum to a card front — especially a piece this large. You have to try to hide the Glue Dots or adhesive underneath some of the front elements.
For this card, I cut a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Adhesive Sheets to just under 5 x 3 3/4 inches (the size of the vellum layer). I adhered the sheet to the back of the vellum and then layered it on a piece of Silver Foil measuring 5 1/4 x 4 inches. The rest was easy. Just embellish the front and send!

Looking for a quick and easy card design? Today’s handmade greeting card fits that request perfectly. I was inspired by a swap card I received at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event this last weekend. This layout and design lends itself to all occasions and all Designer Series Paper packages. (Thank you to Donna Johnson for the inspiration.)
Celebrate Everything Christmas Card
Here are some details:
Thick Basic White card stock measures 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches and is scored at 4 1/4 inches

The “falala” sentiment adds a fun and whimsical element to this creation. It comes from Stampin’ Up!’s Framed & Festive stamp set. This set is a special release and is only available through January 4, 2023, or while supplies last.

Although we give gift cards for many occasions such as birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and anniversaries, Christmas rates as the prime gift card season. I know I have quite a few on my gift-giving list.
So, as paper crafters, we need something fun and decorative in which to give the gift card. In today’s post, I show you how to create one example of a Christmas-themed gift card holder.
In the past, I’ve made a variety of other designs. See the inks below for a few other ideas:
Stampin’ Up!’s Framed & Festive Stamp Set. This stamp set is part of a special release of the Fitting Florets Collection. The set itself is only available while supplies last or January 4, 2023. I love the sentiments and the fonts in this set. Be sure to grab it while it’s still available.
Santa Express 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. Find this on page 17 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Though this double-sided, patterned paper coordinates with the Santa’s Delivery Bundle, the simple patterns draw me to this package, like the sheet I used on this gift card holder. Isn’t it festive?
The picture below shows the inside of the gift card holder.
Be sure to watch the video below (a Facebook live replay) that demonstrates how this gift card holder comes together.

Hold onto your adhesive! There’s a lot going on in this post. First, I introduce some brand-new paper crafting product available beginning today, November 1, 2022. Second, while I showcase the new product, I feature a fun fold technique (double gate fun fold).
Fitting Florets Collection

This bundle is a sneak peek from the upcoming January-June 2023 Mini Catalog. (This goes live January 5, 2023.) (Click on the links at the end of this post to begin shopping.)
Better yet, grab the whole Fitting Florets Collection for just $97.50. The two stamp sets afford the ability to make handmade greeting cards and projects for all occasions, including Christmas. And, the oval-shaped dies give you a variety of options for layering and embellishment. The collection includes the:
Framed Florets stamp set
Framed Florets coordinating dies
Framed & Festive cling stamp set (only available through January 3, 2023, or while supplies last)
Fitting Florets Designer Series :Paper (only available through January 3, 2023, or while supplies last)
Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls ((only available through January 3, 2023, or while supplies last)
I used elements from the collection to create the holiday card at the top of the post. Be sure to watch the video for a visual look.
View the inside of the card below:
Fitting Florets Fun Fold Feature
The base of the card (Polished Pink) measures 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Cut the Designer Series Paper piece to 5 1/4 x 12 inches. Score at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches. Fold on the score lines to create this fun opening.
Take a look at two other cards I created using this same Double Gate Fun Fold technique.
The above card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets, Christmas Pinecone Dies, and Painted Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.
For this last card (above), I used Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Candy Canes Bundle and the Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.
