Sunny Sentiments Meets Alcohol Ink

Sunny Sentiments Meets Alcohol Inks

Have you seen Stampin’ Up!’s new Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper? It’s been a very popular item since the catalog went live early May. The images just wow.

Expressions in Ink

I tried a technique that can offer the same look. (Yes, I’m a little late to the party. Lots of other videos and card samples showcase the alcohol ink technique.) But I had to try to for myself. I paired the designs with Stampin’ Up!’s Sunny Sentiments stamp set. So excited to share all the finished cards!

This post features four of the cards I created with the set and technique. It works really well for backgrounds. Be sure to watch the video for a visual look of how I created these beautiful cards.

Here’s a quick recap of Sunny Sentiments meets alcohol ink technique:

  • Started with Stampin’ Up!’s vellum card stock. I made it larger than I needed so I could die cut it to size.
  • Scribbled, colored, drew on the vellum with Stampin’ Up!’ Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. Use an color combination your heart desires.
  • With a paint brush, dribble and touch rubbing alcohol (the 91 percent seems to work the best) onto the ink and watch the magic happen. You could also blow on it or use a straw to move the ink around.
  • Be sure to play around with the different Stampin’ Blends colors to see all of the fun combinations you can make.
  • Let the image dry and then stamp.

Enjoy these card samples. Try this technique yourself and see what happens.

Hats Off for Summer

Hats Off for Summer

Thanks for joining us today! Welcome to Team Stamp It’s June blog hop. This month,The r we feature cards and projects with a summer and/or patriotic theme. Be sure to visit all of the talented stampers participating in the hop. Leave a comment with the hashtag #stampitcontest. You could win a Hello Dear Friend card kit.

Hats Off for Summer

My card features the super fun Hats Off Bundle found on page 47 of Stampin’ Up!’s new Annual Catalog. Actually, I only used the smaller hat die to convey my summer and patriotic theme. The sentiment comes from A Good Man stamp set (located on page 46).

I’ve had a lot of fun creating a variety of hats — for both men and women — with this bundle. View this blog post for a few other ideas and a video.

Hats Off to Summer Card

The red, white, and blue theme, combined with the baseball hats, gives off a great summer vibe. After all, summer and baseball are synonymous.

In addition to the Hats Off Bundle and A Good Man, I used the following Stampin’ Up! products:

  • Basic White, Real Red, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake Card Stock
  • Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Circles from the Picture This dies
  • Bottom layering decorative circle from Tasteful Labels Dies
  • Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder

Sweet Ice Cream #simplestamping

Sweet Ice Cream #simplstamping

Each month, Stampin’ Up! offers a #simplestamping challenge. It encourages us to use just rubber stamps, ink, and paper to create handmade, rubber-stamped greeting cards. Through this practice, we show you don’t need a lot of wild and crazy supplies. You can make something pretty and functional with just a few supplies. (Of course, as crafters, we love to have all of the extra goodies; there are so many gorgeous and fun embellishment choices.)

This month’s challenge calls for rubber stamps, ink, paper, and a punch. Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and the coordinating Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch have been popular items. Through the end of June, purchase the bundle and save 10 percent. (Note: These are both available in the new Annual Catalog separately, but not offered as a bundle discount.)

This duo offers the perfect crafting combination. Although ice cream is a great treat anytime, summer is the perfect season!

Sweet Ice Cream #simplestamping

The Sweet Ice Cream Bundle has been my bundle “binge” this week. I have a tendency to choose to a bundle of Stampin’ Up! products and work with it for a few days or a week, thus binging one it! Once I start creating, the ideas usually flow. It’s fun to see all of the designs that can come from one bundle. Check out this blog post for a video showing how I used these two products to create a fun shaker card.

The card featured above uses one of my current favorite products, the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

Sweet Ice Cream #simplestamping

The card above features the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. It’s a host offering — available for $18 when you have a party that reaches $180 in sales. Ask me how you can earn this!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please let me know how I can help you in your paper crafting journey.
