Beauty of Friendship for Fall Card
My card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Beauty of Friendship stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Trees Dies. Buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent. Find these on page 11 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. (Hint: When you purchase this bundle you qualify for a free SaleABration item — through September 30. You could choose the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper I used on today’s card.)
Fall cards offer the perfect time to bring out the baby wipe technique. That’s how I created the multi-colored foliage image of the tree.
Baby Wipe Technique
This technique is super fun and super easy. Lay a couple of baby wipes on a flat surface. Stampin’ Up!’s Silicone Mat works well as does wax paper. Drip drops of ink from Stampin’ Up!’s reinkers onto the baby wipes. I used fall colors I like such as Mango Melody, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Cajun Craze. The ink spreads as you randomly drop the ink onto the wipe. Be sure to fill in any blank spots.
Then, press your stamp onto the baby wipes, using it as an ink pad. Then stamp the image onto your card stock. You can reuse this “pad” many times to make the most out of your ink. I often move the stamp around on the wipe to get different color patterns. Be sure to experiment with different colors and patterns to get the look you like.
Ink Spritzing
Ink spritzing is another fun technique. I love the sparkle of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. (Get it free with a $50 purchase — before tax and shipping — during SaleABration while supplies last). But, I wanted a different color. So I added it myself.
I poured 91 percent rubbing alcohol into one of Stampin’ Up!’s spritzers and added six drops of Cajun Craze reinker. Then, I sprayed my thin strips of Be Dazzling paper. Just think of all the different colors you could use!
Be sure to watch the below video to see how this card came together.
