Sometimes when you’re creating, you just want to have someone tell you what to do. You’re in luck! Today, I offer a free card-making tutorial using Stampin’ Up!’s Beautiful Balloons Bundle. Find it beginning on page 14 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2023-2024 Annual Catalog

Beautiful Balloons Free Tutorial

Please enjoy these step-by-step instructions for creating the card featured at the top of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • STAMPS – Beautiful Balloons (161450), Circle Sayings (161348)
  • PAPER – Berry Burst Cardstock (144243) Basic White Cardstock (159276), Bright & Beautiful 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (161449)
  • INK – Berry Burst (147143), Misty Moonlight (153118)
  • OTHER – Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220) Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755)

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Berry Burst Cardstock – 11” x 4 ¼”, scored and folded at 5 ½”, 4, 1 1/4″´x 5 ¼” (2)
  • DSP — 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (2)
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 2 ½”, 5 ¼” x 4” (2)

Instructions:

  • Adhere each of the two DSP pieces to one of the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White Cardstock pieces – flush with each edge. Glue the two small Berry Bursts strips next to each of the DSP pieces.
  • Glue this piece to the Berry Burst card base.
  • Begin stamping on the 5 ¼” x 2 ½” Basic White Cardstock. Start with the “Let’s get our celebration on” sentiment in Berry Burst and work your way down.
  • Next, stamp the large balloon with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • Stamp the tassel in Berry Burst ink.
  • And, last, stamp the “Happy Birthday Sentiment” from the Circle Sayings stamp set in Misty Moonlight.
  • Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of this piece and place on card front, positioning it between the two Berry Burst strips.
  • Add a Rhinestone Back Jewel to the balloon, as shown above.
  • Glue remaining Basic White Cardstock to the center of the card so you can write a personal message.

Ginkgo Branch Free Tutorial

Do you like to stretch the limits of a bundle? If you’re like me, you love it when you can use a stamp set and the coordinating dies for more than one reason. The Ginkgo Branch Bundle has been on my craft table for the last couple of weeks. Initially, it looks as if it’s geared only toward thinking of you and sympathy cards. And, it works great for that. But I’ve also used it to create birthday cards. See another example here. And, today, I share a free birthday card tutorial featuring the Ginkgo Branch Bundle. Please enjoy the step-by-step instructions for creating this gorgeous, handmade birthday card. 

Ginkgo Branch Free Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • STAMPS – Peaceful Moments (151595)
  • PAPER – Tahitian Tide Cardstock (159261), Petal Pink (146985), Basic White Cardstock (159276), 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper (159246), Country Gingham 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (DSP) (160388)
  • INK – Versamark (102283)
  • OTHER – Ginkgo Branch Dies (160468), Tahitian Tide 1/8” Metallic Woven Ribbon (159197), Stylish Shapes Dies (159183), Enamel Dot Essentials (160751), Basics Embossing Powder (155554), Heat Tool (129053), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Take Your Pick Tool (144107), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653)

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Tahitian Tide Cardstock — 8 ½” x 5 ½” (scored at 4 ¼”) and 4 ¼” x 3 ¼”
  • Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper – 4 ¼” x 3 ¼”
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Petal Pink Cardstock – 2” x 2”
  • DSP – 5 ¼” x 4” (Petal Pink design), 4” x 3” (a different Petal Pink design)
  • Ribbon – 12”

Instructions:

  • Die cut the open flower die from the Ginkgo Branch Bundle from the Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper.
  • Attach to Petal Pink 4” x 3” DSP panel by placing Glue Dots beneath the solid flowers.
  • Glue this piece to the Tahitian Tide 4 ¼” 3 ¼” piece.
  • Wrap the ribbon around this layer and tie a bow.
  • Stamp the birthday sentiment in Versarmark on the 2” x 2” square and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Die cut with a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • With Stampin’ Dimensionals, attach the sentiment on top of the leaves die cut and ribbon on the right-hand side, as shown above.
  • Attach the 5 ¼” x 4” DSP to the card front.
  • Place the image layer on the card front with your choice of adhesive.
  • Add three white Enamel Dot Essentials to the card front with the Take Your Pick Tool.
  • Adhere the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

Something Fancy Card Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • STAMPS – Something Fancy Bundle (160425)
  • PAPER – Night of Navy Cardstock (100867), Basic White Cardstock (159276), Regency Park 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (DSP) (160559)
  • INK – Night of Navy (147110)
  • OTHER – Petal Park Builder Punch (160576), Night of Navy 3/8” Bordered Ribbon (160581), Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots (160582), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Take Your Pick Tool (144107), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653)

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Night of Navy Cardstock — 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded in half; scrap
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”, scrap
  • DSP – 5 ¼” x 4” (Petal Pink dotted design), 4 ¾” x 3 ½” (Balmy Blue dotted design), punched Petal Pink and Balmy Blue flowers from DSP
  • Ribbon – 20”

Instructions:

  • Stamp the thank you sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set in Night of Navy ink on the scrap piece of Basic White. Die cut with image shown above. At the same time, die cut the larger nesting image from the Night of Navy scrap. Adhere the two pieces together.
  • Glue the 4 ¾” x 3 ½” DSP to the 5 ¼” x 4” DSP.
  • Wrap the Night of Navy 3/8” Bordered Ribbon around this piece and tie a bow, fashioning it toward the left-hand side of the card.
  • Adhere all to the Night of Navy base.
  • With Stamin’ Dimensionals, add the sentiment to the card front, straddling the ribbon, snuggling the left side near the bow.
  • Add the punched flowers to the top left and bottom right of the sentiment with Glue Dots as shown above.
  • Using the Take Your Pick Tool, add the Night of Navy and Petal Pink Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot gems to the flower centers.
  • Glue the white cardstock to the inside of the card.

Here are a couple of other versions of this same greeting card. I just love how changing the Designer Series Paper designs gives the card just a little different look.

    • score @ 5 ½” and fold

Instructions:

  • Stamp image from Decorative Boarders in the lower right corner of card base in Petal Pink Ink.
  • In Petal Pink, stamp large flower image from Decorative Boarders in the middle of the Basic White panel.
  • Stamp thank you greeting from Season of Chic over flower image on Basic White panel in Evening Evergreen.
  • Near the right-hand side, add Designer Series Paper panel to card base with Seal.
  • Attach ½” x 5 1/2″ Evening Evergreen to the right side of the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper with Seal.
  • With Stampin’ Dimensionals, attach the greeting panel to the card base.
  • Attach three Pearl Basic Jewels to the upper right corner of the card base.

  • Stamp the owl with Memento ink on the white circle. Color with Stampin’ Blends and Mango Meldoy Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Layer on Mango Melody scallop.
  • Punch the left side of the 5 ½” x 1” white cardstock with the Banners Pick a Punch.
  • Stamp the sentiment with Mango Melody ink on the left side of the banner.
  • Adhere the 4”x 3” DSP to the right-hand side of the Mango Melody card front.
  • Add the 4 ¾” x 2 ½” DSP piece on top of this. Then add the banner with the sentiment.
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the owl layer on the right-hand side.
  • Glue 5 ¼” x 4” white cardstock to the middle of the card.
