Ever since I purchased Stampin’ Up!’s Hearts of Elegance Bundle, I’ve been intentional about using it for all kinds of occasion cards. I try to get so much out of my bundles, and this bundle goes way beyond Valentine’s Day and love themes. Today, I offer a free, card-making tutorial to help you create a birthday celebration card. Please enjoy the step-by-step directions below.

Hearts of Elegance Free Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • STAMPS – Day to Celebrate (164963) (SAB)
  • PAPER – Boho Blue Cardstock (161724), Bubble Bath Card Stock (161718) Basic White Cardstock (159276), 2023-2025 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (163778)
  • INK – Versamark (102283)
  • · OTHER – Hearts of Elegance Dies (164915), Starstruck Embossing Folder (164972) (SAB), Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack (155475), 2023-2025 In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots (163782), Heat Tool (129053), Basics Wow! Embossing Powder (165679), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653)

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Boho Blue Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded, 3” x 3”
  • Bubble Bath Cardstock – 5 ½” x 3”
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”
  • 2023-2025 In Color 6 x 6 DSP – 2” x 2” (3)
  • White Bakers Twine – 8”

Instructions:

  • Emboss the 5 ½” x 3” Bubble Bath Cardstock with the Starstruck Embossing Folder
  • Attach to Boho Blue card base.
  • Die cut the 3” x 3” Boho Blue Cardstock with the heart from Hearts of Elegance Dies.
  • Heat emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder on that Boho Blue heart.
  • Die cut three other hearts of various sizes from the In Color DSP.
  • Attach hearts to card front, as shown above.
  • Tie a bow with the ribbon and attach to card front.
  • Add three Boho Blue In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots.
  • Attach the remaining white Basic Cardstock to the center of the card.

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Melon Mambo Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded, 4 ¾” x 4 ¾”, and a scrap
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper – 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Gold Foil Sheets – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
  • Gold Twisted Thread – 10”

Instructions:

  • Attach the Marbled Elegance DSP to card front. Choose the design that favors the Melon Mambo.
  • Use the second largest heart (the stitched border heart) to die cut a shape from the 4 ¾” x 4 ¾” Melon Mambo card stock. Adhere to center of card front.
  • Die cut the smallest heart with the 1 ½” x 1 ½” Gold Foil Sheet. Add to card front on the left side of large Melon Mambo heart.
  • Heat emboss, with gold, the “Just Because I Care” sentiment from the Heart Shaped Bundle on the Melon Mambo scrap. Die cut with the label from the Heart Shaped Bundle die.
  • Tie Gold Twisted Thread in a bow and add to card front, as shown.
  • Add three Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins.

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded

  • Take a Bow 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper – 5 ¼” x 2 ½”

Instructions:

  • Stamp the Merry Christmas sentiment in the lower right-hand corner of the 5 1/4” x 4” Basic White Cardstock.
  • Adhere the DSP to the top of the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White Cardstock panel. Add Real Red Glimmer paper piece below the DSP.
  • Wrap the Real Red & White Baker’s Twine around this panel and tie a bow.
  • Attach all to the Thick Basic White Cardstock base.
  • Die cut the 3”-inch circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies from the Real Red Cardstock.
  • Stamp the house from the Humble home stamp set with Real Red ink on a scrap of white cardstock. Punch with coordinating punch.
  • With Stampin’ Dimensionals, pop up house on die cut circle. Pop up all on card front.
  • Add Peppermints as desired.

I haven’t done an actual countdown, but I know the holiday season is nearing. It’s time to start planning those Christmas card creations.

In today’s post, I share a quick card that uses scraps as well as the Merriest Trees Stamp Set and coordinating dies. Find these in Stampin’ Up!’s 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.

Merriest Trees Free Tutorial

  • STAMPS – Merriest Trees (162043)
  • PAPER – Real Red Cardstock (102482), Basic White Cardstock (159276), Take A Bow Designer Series Paper (164309), Festive 12 x 12 Glimmer Paper (164106)
  • INK – Real Red (147084)
  • OTHER – Merriest Trees Dies (162047), Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder (162026), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653)

Cutting & Scoring:  

  • Real Red Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded, 2 ½” x 2 ½”
  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4” (2), 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”, scrap
  • Take A Bow 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper – eight various squares each measuring 1 ¼” x 1 ¼”
  • Festive 12 x 12 Glimmer Paper (Garden Green) – 2 ¾” x 3”

Instructions:

  • Arrange the eight 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” squares on the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White Cardstock: three along the top, four down the right side, and three on the bottom. Tip: Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue so you have some time to place the squares.
  • Emboss the 2 3/8” x 2 3/8” Basic White Cardstock square with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. Attach to 2 ½” x 2 ½” Real Red Cardstock square. Add to panel in the remaining space on the panel.
  • Glue entire panel to Real Red Cardstock base.
  • Die cut the Garden Green 2 ¾” x 3” Festive Glimmer Paper with the second largest tree die from the Merriest Trees Dies.
  • With Stampin’ Dimensionals, pop tree up on the white embossed piece.
  • Stamp Love & Joy sentiment with Real Red ink on Basic White scrap. Cut edges of card stock at a diagonal.
  • Place remaining Basic White Cardstock 5 ¼” x 4” piece in the center of the card.

  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Ribbon – 8”

Instructions:

  • Emboss the 5” x 3 ¾” Cherry Cobbler Cardstock with Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Attach to Cherry Cobbler card base.
  • Emboss the large leaf on the 5” x 3 ½” Cherry Cobbler Cardstock with gold embossing powder. Die cut with coordinating die.
  • Emboss the sentiment “A little note to brighten your day” on a scrap of Cherry Cobber Cardstock with gold embossing powder. Die cut with larger label die.
  • Add the leaf to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note: Be generous with the dimensionals. I added about two per leaf.
  • Attach the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals to card front, as shown above.
  • Tie a bow with ribbon and attach to card on the left-hand side of the sentiment with a Glue Dot.
  • Add three of the Gold Textured Adhesive-Backed Dots to card front.
  • Add remaining Basic White Cardstock panel to the inside of the card.
