Welcome to the Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop where I’m sharing a Geared Up Garage card sample.

Thanks for joining us on our blog hop today! Today, we showcase cards and projects created for the men in our lives. Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment. I’ve posted a list at the end of the post.
Geared Up Garage Card Sample

I’m excited this stamp set (Geared Up Garage) and its coordinating Garage Gears Dies carry over into Stampin’ Up!’s new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. The catalog debuts June 3. Look for a lot of fun, new product. (Hint: If you love this bundle and love a discount, purchase it now with a 10 percent discount. It won’t be available as a discounted bundle in the new catalog.)
A few pointers about today’s card. I:
- embossed Silver Foil with the Hammered Metal embossing folder. What a cool look!;
- stamped the car in Memento Ink and colored with Real Red, Smoky Slate, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends;
- die cut the gears in Basic Black card stock; and
- stamped the background “smoke” image with Smoky Slate.

Geared Up Garage Sample-Gift Pouch

Stampin’ Up!’s Acetate Card Boxes make great gift packaging. (Get 10 of them for $7.) This holds a Norwex cleaning cloth, perfect for shining up dad’s vehicle. These boxes are designed to hold cards and envelopes, but I dressed this up to create a unique presentation.
Using the card’s theme, I included a piece of Silver Foil and embossed it with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing Folder. I added the car and gear elements and topped it off with a piece of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon. Super cute and super easy.
Follow along the hop using the list below! Enjoy!

Making a difference with rubber stamps, ink, and paper!
“To love what we do and share what we love as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments. In this we make a difference.”
This is Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart. I truly believe and live this, even before I was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
Creating and sending cards has always been a passion of mine, and Stampin’ Up!’s products make it easy and gratifying. Although I’m not the world’s best crafter (and I rely on Pinterest for inspiration, a lot), I love making cards and passing them along to others.
The card I’m sharing today is one I created multiples of early in the week. I experimented with Stampin’ Up!’s Bokeh Dots stamp set, which is retiring soon. So, I combined that with the Dandelion Wishes (which is carrying over) and made a handful. Then, each person on my list received this card. The list includes a teenage niece battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a friend of a friend diagnosed with stomach cancer, someone celebrating a birthday, and the list goes on.
I’m hoping people find joy and understand someone is thinking of them.
When my friend Dianne was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma many years ago, I began sending a “thinking of you” card weekly. Because I couldn’t remember what I sent from week to week, I found it “necessary” to design a new one each week. She later told me she compiled all of the cards in an album and discovered I never duplicated a stamp set! Imagine that! When Dianne passed away, I vowed I would, in her memory, continue to send something weekly to support someone in their journey.
Chemo Angels
This group dedicates itself to facilitating the sending of cards to those undergoing chemotherapy treatments in the United States. It matches volunteers with patients. As a volunteer, you commit to sending at least one card a week and often a small gift.
I’ve written to many patients through the years, and though it’s not meant to be a pen pal program, I know I’ve made a difference. Some of the patients graduate from treatment and others lose their battle.
A few years ago, I received a letter from a man who lost his wife. He thanked me for the cards and letters, saying he found a basket of them by his wife’s chair. She turned to them when she needed a pick-me-up. Those cards, made with rubber stamps, ink, and paper, made a difference to her.
It seems like such a small thing to do. But it’s the one thing I CAN do.
Stealing a saying from a fellow demonstrator: Making a difference one card at a time. May you find joy and purpose in your paper crafting.

May 11, 2020 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Annual Catalog, Gallery, Let It Ride |
Stampin’ Up!’s Let It Ride stamp set retires, as does the Crackle Paint background stamp, and the Copper Trim. See details below.

Stampin’ Up! recently released its Last-Chance List. What does this mean? It means a host of Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, coordinating dies and framelits, Designer Series Paper, ribbon, and more won’t be available after June 2 (or while supplies last. A number of products have already sold out.) Some of the items are discounted.
Why? Because a brand-new catalog releases June 3, It’s filled with a ton of brand-new product to help you in your paper crafting endeavors. Stampin’ Up! must make room in its warehouse for the new offerings.
Click here to see the list of retiring products still available.
Let It Ride Card
The card above I created for a friend’s birthday actually uses three products retiring from Stampin’ Up!’s offerings:

Oftentimes, I sell all of my retiring stamp sets, but I’m going to keep this one. I just love all of the sentiments and feel they can be used in a variety of situations and a variety of events. “Take Life by the Reins” offers a perfect greeting for graduates, as well as the “Go for It” phrase.
Here are a few pointers for how this card came together:
- Stamped the Crackle Paint background in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla card stock
- Used Black Memento Ink for the horse and colored him with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends
- Gently pulled apart the Copper Trim and afixed it to the card. (Don’t you think the little knot looks like a horse’s tail?)
