We’re celebrating moms for Mother’s Day. I know there are a lot of dog moms out there, so I decided to have a little fun with Stampin’ Up! products. I’ve created a card for moms of our furry friends!

I love Stampin’ Up!’s color coordination. The Best Dressed Designer Series Paper uses a host of complementary colors, and I chose Petal Pink and Mint Macaron for a more feminine look.
And, we need a treat bag to accompany the card.
Treat Bag
I followed the same color scheme and used the same basic products as the card to create a fun, little bag filled with dog treats. The 3 x 9 Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bags (25 bags for $7 – #151312) provide a perfect receptacle for treats like this and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch makes it quick and easy to create a tag.

We’ve been able to work with these colors for almost two years. I’m always sad to see the In Colors retire, but I look forward to the new ones. Stampin’ Up! announces its list of retiring products soon, and we know it includes these colors and all of the associated products.

Stamparatus
Stampin’ Up!’s stamp positioning tool, the Stamparatus, allows you to do some fun techniques (in additional to being able to stamp straight!). The unique hinge system facilitates this fun stamping of the butterflies. I call it Hinge-Step Stamping. Position the first stamp on the paper, ink the image, and stamp the paper. Then, remove the plate and move it down one slot. (Look for a video later this week demonstrating this technique.) Keep stamping until you have the desired design. Be sure to clean the stamp if you’re using several colors.
Positive Thoughts
The Positive Thoughts stamp set works perfectly for the times we are experiencing. Each day, I focus on sending cards to offer happy mail and let people know someone is thinking of them. The sentiments and images in this set are perfect for that. I’m just starting to play with the images.

I’m sharing a new how-to video showing the masking technique with Stampin’ Up!’s Timeless Tulips stamp set.
I hope you enjoy this quick video I recorded demonstrating how to use a Post It Note and rubber stamps, ink, and paper to create lifelike images for your card making. This technique works with a variety of stamps and images. Be creative and see what you can do.

Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog is nearing the end of its run. The sales period ends June 2. A retiring list publishes April 22. We do know the 2018-2020 In Colors retire. They include: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel. Today, I’m sharing a #simplestamping card using just rubber stamps, ink, and paper.
This past year, Stampin’ Up! focused on #simplestamping: the art of creating a handmade card with just stamps, ink, and paper. After all, these provide the underpinnings of paper crafting. It allows us to focus on the basics of the craft and realize we can make beautiful projects with a handful of supplies. It’s a great place to start for beginning stampers, and it challenges seasoned stampers to step away from the extras.
Each month, Stampin’ Up! challenges demonstrators to practice #simplestamping. It presents different themes – and an extra product now and then – that we can add to our card making. This month’s challenge calls for us to create a birthday card with just rubber stamps, ink, and paper. I love tulips, so I’m drawn to the Timeless Tulips stamp set found in Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.
My Tulip Card
Stampin’ Up’s’ note cards and envelopes offer a great place to start with #simplestamping. Available in Whisper White and Very Vanilla, you receive 20 pre cut and scored cards and envelopes for just $7. These bases make it easy to build a card from there without having to cut and score a bunch of card stock.
I added a layer of Melon Mambo card stock between the base and the front, stamping the flower with Melon Mambo ink. Stamps the leaves with Old Olive ink. Although the Timeless Tulips stamp set includes a “hello” greeting (as well as birthday, Mother’s Day and spring), this “hello” comes from the Bloom & Grow stamp set.
Masking Technique
The tulips get their layered look from a technique called masking. Stamp a tulip on a Post It note and cut around the tulip. (If you happen to have the coordinating Tulip Builder punch, use that to punch the image. But it’s not a necessity.)
Stamp your first tulip directly onto the card stock with your ink of choice. Place the Post It note on top of that tulip. Then, ink and stamp additional tulips on both sides.
A couple of tips: I placed a Stampin’ Pierce Mat under my card stock. And, I applied solid pressure to each stamp, making sure the entire image was stamped. Remove the Post It Note , and you’re ready to complete the card.

I’m sharing some card samples using Stampin’ Up!’s Bloom & Grow stamp set!
Is anyone out there like me? You see a card or idea, run to the computer, purchase the supplies, and then don’t actually make anything. I have a few of those buys in my stash and decided to dust them off, take them out of the package, and use them.
The Bloom & Grow stamp set and its coordinating Budding Blooms Dies, featured on page 180 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog, was brand-new in the package this last weekend. Without even first consulting Pinterest, this is the design I created. I got so carried away, I made four different color versions: Mango Melody, Highland Heather, Rococo Rose, and Flirty Flamingo. Keep reading and scrolling to see all of the color samples. It’s hard to choose which one I like best. They’re all so pretty!

The Bloom and Grow Card Details
Here are few details about the Bloom & Grow card samples:
Each base measures 8 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches.
The next layer measures 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches. Emboss with the Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder.
Die cut vellum with the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
Stamp sentiment directly onto the vellum.
Color floral images with coordinating colors of Stampin’ Blends.
Die cut floral image with coordinating die.
Top it off with a bit of linen thread tied in a bow.

Reach into your stash and play with a stamp set that hasn’t been inked. If you lack inspiration, head to Pinterest. In the search bar and type in the name of the stamp set. (For instance, if I wanted to view card samples using Bloom & Grow, I’d type in Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow.) Pinterest rewards with a host of cards created by other stampers. It’s OK to CASE (copy and share everything), but also feel free to make it your own if you don’t have the same supplies.
