Playful Packaging & Waterside Retreat

Playful Packaging & Waterside Retreat

Have I told you that I really, really love treat and small gift packaging? For each in person class, I create a fun table gift for the attendees to take home. I’ll admit, I didn’t purchase Stampin’ Up!’s new Playful Packaging Bundle when it first came out. What was I thinking? Then, I borrowed it from a friend, and I was hooked. I bought my own. Oh, my gosh, it is so fun to play with. In the next few posts, I’ll be sharing some of my creations. But, I can tell you, the options are almost endless. Be sure to watch the video below to see how this pieces come together. I also share a bunch of other samples.

Measurements and Details

  • Misty Moonlight cardstock for die cutting the three main pieces. You can fit all of these pieces on a piece measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
  • A piece of Waterside Retreat 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper measuring about 4 1/4 x 2. I selected the paper images that would work for my “lifesaving” theme. Find the life jackets on one sheet and the buoys on another sheet.
  • Misty Moonlight measuring 2 x 1/2 for sentiment.
  • Sentiment from May Paper Pumpkin Kit. It’s so perfect for this themed packet. Stamped in Secret Sea.
  • Hole Punch Assortment
  • Linen Thread
  • Loose Anchor Trinkets
  • Flat 4 x 8 Cellophane Bags. (I trimmed a few inches off of mine.)

Let’s Celebrate Fun Fold

Let's Celebrate Fun Fold

From the front, this card looks like your normal, side-opening card. But there’s a little surprise. It’s a little fun fold.

Here’s what it actually looks like when it’s “open.”

What do you think? Cute, right? This is one reason I love Stampin’ Up!’s Balloon Festoon Bundle so much. I keep finding different ways to use both the dies and the images.

To make the shaped, folded card, I used a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Daffodil Delight Two-Tone Cardstock measuring 9 x 3 1/4. I folded it in half, giving it a good burnish with the Bone Folder. I then placed the folded cardstock on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and grabbed the second largest balloon die, placing the top of the die just above the fold.

Here’s a picture to show you what I mean.

After die cutting it can be placed on the card front or used as a stand-alone mini card.

The two-tone cardstock works perfectly for this fun fold because it’s a little lighter weight. And, the two-tone lighter side allows you a opportunity to write a message without adding additional white cardstock.

Measurements and Details

  • Lost Lagoon cardstock base measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4 x 4
  • Balloon die cut as directed above
  • Lost Lagoon cardstock piece stamped with Pretty Peacock ink
  • White Baker’s Twine
  • Array of Dots (Pretty Peacock) gems

I hope you like this fun fold! And, I hope you can see why I love the Balloon Festoon Bundle so much! Please get in touch if you have questions about this card or any other stamping project. I’m happy to help.

Balloon Festoon Enjoy Your Day

Balloon Festoon Enjoy Your Day

I don’t think I’ll every run out of card-making ideas with Stampin’ Up!’s new Balloon Festoon Bundle. Find it in the May-August 2026 Mini Catalog. The seven balloon dies make it easy to create a variety of projects. The largest balloon — measuring 5 3/4 x 4 3/16 — is perfect for making banners or for use on a scrapbook page.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Festoon Bundle

For today’s card, I concentrated on the monochromatic look with just one color — Berry Burst. I also really like the new Painted Patterns 12 x 12 Designer Series Papers. Stampin’ Up! offers them in our color families of Brights, Regals, Subtles, and Neutrals as well as Basics and the 2026-2028 In Colors. The polka dots and stripes patterns provide a path to easy card making.
