The Christmas cards are in the mail. The gifts are purchased. Wrapping is underway. (OK, maybe in a perfect world!) The last thing on the list are , handmade gift tags. These can be very simple or have a lot of components. Whatever style or design you need, know that Stampin’ Up! products can help you get the job done.
In today’s post, I share just a few of the handmade holiday tags I created with a variety of Stampin’ Up! stamps, ink, dies, and embellishments. With 50 colors in our palette, you’ll be able to match the tags to your gift wrap or holiday gift bag.
Holiday Gift Tags Samples
Top Left: This tag has a Very Vanilla card stock base (I used thick card stock to provide a sturdy base.) It uses the Christmas Lights Bundle with gold heat embossing. Just a note: The Christmas Lights Bundle ($45.75) is retiring from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.
Bottom Left: This tag highlights Stampin’ Up!’s Real Red & White Glimmer Paper and the star die cut from the Twinkling Lights Dies. (Save $2.80 on the dies. These retire January 4, 2023). A white, heat embossed sentiment (Peaceful Deer stamp set) with Pearls adds just a little extra.
Bottom Right: The Layering Circles Dies provide the base for this card. I also embossed the circle with the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. Red Rhinestones add a little glitz.(Sadly, the snowflake has sold out. But feel free to substitute snowflakes from other sets.)
Be sure to watch the video below to see how I make a couple of these cards and show some other tag samples. Please reach out if you have questions about products or techniques. I’m happy to help!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope you’re inspired to create some of the handmade tags to adorn your holiday gifts this year.

Although we give gift cards for many occasions such as birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and anniversaries, Christmas rates as the prime gift card season. I know I have quite a few on my gift-giving list.
So, as paper crafters, we need something fun and decorative in which to give the gift card. In today’s post, I show you how to create one example of a Christmas-themed gift card holder.
In the past, I’ve made a variety of other designs. See the inks below for a few other ideas:
Stampin’ Up!’s Framed & Festive Stamp Set. This stamp set is part of a special release of the Fitting Florets Collection. The set itself is only available while supplies last or January 4, 2023. I love the sentiments and the fonts in this set. Be sure to grab it while it’s still available.
Santa Express 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. Find this on page 17 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Though this double-sided, patterned paper coordinates with the Santa’s Delivery Bundle, the simple patterns draw me to this package, like the sheet I used on this gift card holder. Isn’t it festive?
The picture below shows the inside of the gift card holder.
Be sure to watch the video below (a Facebook live replay) that demonstrates how this gift card holder comes together.

View the inside of the card below:
Fitting Florets Fun Fold Feature
The base of the card (Polished Pink) measures 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Cut the Designer Series Paper piece to 5 1/4 x 12 inches. Score at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches. Fold on the score lines to create this fun opening.
Take a look at two other cards I created using this same Double Gate Fun Fold technique.
The above card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets, Christmas Pinecone Dies, and Painted Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.
For this last card (above), I used Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Candy Canes Bundle and the Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.

Making handmade greeting cards with Stampin’ Up! products is fun and satisfying, but it’s awesome there are other a lot of other projects to make. With our rubber stamps, ink, and paper, we can also create a host of small gift items and gift packaging. In today’s post, you’ll learn how to create a small gift bag with the Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.
With this simple design,(inspired by In the Pink Designs by Cathryn) you can use many patterned papers, stamp sets, and ribbons to create a variety of different gift bags. Fill the gift bags with chocolates and other goodies to give to neighbors, co-workers, gym buddies, book club pals, and more.
This easy-to-create gift bag uses Stampin’ Up!’s Festive Foils Designer Series Paper, Brightest Glow Stamp Set, and Labels Aglow Dies.
Sweetest Christmas Gift Bags
To create the pattern for the box, cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 8 inches by 5 1/2 inches. You’ll be able to make two bags from each piece of 12 x 12 paper.
On the 8-inch side, score at: 1 1/4″, 3 3/4″, 5″, and 7 1/2″
On the 5 1/2-inch side, score at: 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″
With your snips, trim the pieces as shown below. Also, watch the how-to video below for a visual look at how these bags come together.
Fold into a box, secure with Tear & Tape and decorate as you wish with sentiments, ribbon, and embellishments.
