Split Die Thanksgiving Card

Split Die Thanksgiving Card

Today’s card has a lot going on! First, it features a new-to-me technique–the split die technique. I was inspired by Heidi Collins (On Y Go Stamping). Second, this technique makes two cards. Third, this card uses strips of my current favorite patterned paper–Gathering Together 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper. And fourth, it uses a sneak peek of a product available to customers beginning November 4, 2025–Lasting Linen Photopolymer Stamp Set. (It may be hard to see in the photo, but it’s the background behind the maple leaf.)

Details and Measurements

  • Cajun Craze cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Cajun Craze cardstock panel measuring 5 1/4 x 4. Stamped Lasting Linen background in Cajun Craze ink.
  • Basic White cardstock panel measuring 5 1/4 x 4. Glue strips (1/2 inch x 5 1/2 inches) of Gathering Together 12 x 12 DSP onto panel. Trim off excess.
  • Die cut large maple leaf from the Gathering Moments Dies. Keep both pieces.
  • Stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on white label from Textured Notes Dies
  • Linen Thread
  • Cajun Craze & Gold Dots

Here’s the other card created from the pieces.

Baby Wipe Technique Card Samples

Baby Wipe Technique Card Samples

In an earlier post this week, I shared another handmade greeting card using the baby wipe technique. See that post and card by clicking here.

When you use this technique, you’re able to stamp many different card panels to cut and use to create other cards. I can stretch the ink and get possibly 20 additional panels. This provides me backgrounds I can use at a moments notice.

Today, I share several samples of other cards I made with the baby wipe technique and Stampin’ Up!’s Gathering Moments and Simply Said stamp sets. I like these ideas because they are simple and easy to re-create.

Details and Measurements

  • Cherry Cobbler cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Very Vanilla cardstock panel measuring 5 1/4 x 4
  • Used the baby wipe technique and the large leaf from Stampin’ Up!’s Gathering Moments stamp set to cover the panel with leaves.
  • Cherry Cobbler cardstock panel die cut with Branching Out Dies.
  • Grabbed another panel stamped with the baby wipe technique and die cut with a smaller die from the Branching Out Dies.
  • Sentiment from Simply Said stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla die cut label from the Textured Notes Dies.
  • 3/8-inch Gold Striped Ribbon.
  • Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems.

In this next sample, I cut the stamped panel to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 and layered it on a 4 x 4 Cherry Cobbler square. The sentiment is from the Loveliest Tree stamp set.

Here’s another idea using the stamped images. I cut the strips into 5 x 1/18-inch pieces and layered them on a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 4. Attached to a Very Vanilla cardstock base.

How to Video

From my craft room in Mesa, Arizona, I give step-by-step instructions for creating with the baby wipe technique. Keep in mind that I created a different card on this video. All of the panels used in today’s post, come from that video.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope you like these projects. I love to create quick and easy cards that I can get in the mail. Please let me know if you have questions about these or other stamping projects.

Gathering Moments Baby Wipe Technique

Gathering Moments Baby Wipe Technique

I can’t let the fall season go by without creating a few cards using the baby wipe technique. Although this technique can be used for any season or occasion, it’s really perfect for fall.

To try this technique, layer a couple of baby wipes on a protected surface such as a glass mat, silicone mat, or wax paper. Using Stampin’ Up!’s ink refills, drop dots of the ink onto the baby wipe. Be sure to cover a surface large enough for your stamps. For today’s cards, I used Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green. (In some versions, I’ve substituted Old Olive._ These colors really say “fall.”

Then, use the inked baby wipe as a stamp pad. Place your stamp in the ink and then stamp on a piece of card stock.

Measurements and Details

  • 5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Cardstock stamped with the large leaf from Stampin’ Up!’s Gathering Moments stamp set, using the technique described above.
  • Cut the stamped cardstock to 5 1/4 x 2 1/2. Add to Early Espresso cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.
  • Add a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 3/4, embossed with Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Simply Said in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Die cut with Textured Notes Dies.
  • Gold Striped 3/8-inch ribbon
  • Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems
