In my last blog post, I featured a host of card samples using Stampin’ Up!’s Picture This Dies. (Find this set of two dies on page 164 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. It sells for $34.)
These dies offer a multitude of options when creating peek-a-boo cards. However, I also found a way to use the leftover circles and a way to use one piece as a stencil. I call them my Picture This Dies alternates.
In the card above, featuring the Sweet Strawberry bundle, I glued the circles to a piece of Basic White Card Stock. I then ran this piece through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder, trimming off any pieces that hung over the edge. Do you see that I used another leftover circle as a background for my strawberry?
I love the stitching on the dies as well as the two choices of circles and rectangles.
And, in the card below, I found a way to use the cut as a stencil.
To achieve this look, I cut a piece of card stock to 5 1/4 x 4 inches, die cut with the Picture This Dies (circle). After removing the circles, I placed the die cut on top of another piece of card stock measuring 5 1/4 x 4 inches. With the Blending Brushes, I applied Daffodil Delight ink until I got the right look. The sentiment comes from the Sunny Sentiment stamp set, and I constructed a frame using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
Here’s a video showing how I used the dies in this collection.
