Very Versatile

Picture

Hello Stampers!

This Happy Watercolor set from Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog has been my “go-to” in the last couple of weeks. It is so very versatile! I’ve seen various versions of this card on Pinterest, so I’m not even sure to whom to give credit.

This card uses Summer Starfruit, a color that is being retired. But I happened to have a whole, unopened package just begging to be used.

I stamped the flower image with Black Stazon on Whisper White card stock. I inked the “splotch” from the Happy Watercolor set in Summer Starfruit ink and continued stamping down the page without re-inking. The sentiment comes from the same set.

This card is so simple to make, but it is so elegant. Just imagine the possibilities with different color combinations and sayings. The sentiments from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set would work well here.

Just below, I’ve included another sample using Pink Pirouette. I plan to make some sympathy cards in Wisteria Wonder and possibly Pistachio Pudding.

Enjoy!

Stained Glass Technique

Picture

Hello Stampers!

I really appreciate the versatility of the Happy Watercolor stamp set that’s offered in Stampin’ Up!’s Spring Occasions catalog.

Inspired by Ronda Wade’s stained glass technique, I had to try it with the Happy Watercolor set. Wow! it’s just so pretty!

In a nutshell, here’s what you do:

  • Stamp the image in Black Stazon (or heat emboss with black embossing powder) on vellum card stock.
  • Flip the image over. With your Blender Pens, color the image in the desired hues.
  • Frame the image. I’ve done that here with the 2 1/2-inch circle punch.
  • Adorn the card with ribbon and a sentiment. I’ve used the retiring Victoria Crochet Trim and sentiment from the hostess set Express Yourself.

The Happy Watercolor set is available through June 1.

    Happy stamping!

Another Paper Pumpkin

Hello Stampers!

Yes, it’s two postings in a row about Stampin’ Up!’s My Paper Pumpkin. I have been so excited about what I received in the mail the last couple of months, I just had to share my creations with you. This is what I made with the April kit. It’s just so fun to know that in addition to cards, you can make so much more with Stampin’ Up!’s products. Don’t you just love it! Perfect to give as a gift or decorate your home!

I also have a lot of pieces left over to make some tags or other items.(I have to start thinking out of the box!) One of the stamps focused on Mother’s Day, and I can use that to create a card for my mom.

Remember, a monthly kit costs only $19.95. It’s a new surprise delivered to your mailbox each month. And, if you’re a subscriber, you’ll be eligible to purchase extra kits or kit refills when they become available.
