For Triplets

Greetings Stampers!

You’re going to think I’m picking on my husband with a second post about him and the cards he needs. He works at a large company, and it seems as if there is always something going on. This weekend, his co-workers are hosting a shower for a woman who is having triplets. Of course, I had to create a handmade card.

For this, I used the Baby Tees Stampin’ Around Wheel. This item and the wheels are being discontinued, but it’s a great baby stamp. I actually removed the rubber from the wheel and mounted it on Stampin’ Up!’s cling mount foam. It was super easy to do, and it makes stamping a breeze. I stamped the onesies in Black Stazon and cut them out with the paper snips. Because the sex-reveal party takes place this weekend, I wanted to stay with the neutral colors of Old Olive and Daffodil Delight accented with a bit of Rich Razzleberry. SU!’s Stampin’ Write Markers work great for this job!

The base chevron Designer Series Paper comes from the Brights Pack and the sentiment comes from one of my all-time favorite sets–Teeny Tiny Wishes. It made the cut and will be included in the upcoming catalog. If you don’t have this set; it is a must. It contains a sentiment for almost every occasion.

As for my husband, I am blessed! He is so supportive of my business and my hobby and very patient when the house is filled with fun women stampers! So, I am always happy to make the special cards he needs for those around him. I hope you find the same enjoyment as I when creating something special and handmade.

Happy stamping!

“Big” Thinking of You

Hello Stampers!

So, my husband comes home from work the other day and says, “Do you have a really big ‘thinking of you’ card? I need space for a lot of people to write in it.”

Well, no, I usually don’t carry a stock of “large” cards, but, guess what? I think I just might have the supplies to make one!

I took a sheet of Stampin’ Up”! Whisper White paper and scored it in half, giving me a card size of 8 1/2 by 5 1/2. That’s a lot of space to fill, but the Swallowtail did the trick, In fact, this is probably the first time this lovely stamp has been featured full-size on any card I’ve made.

For the base butterfly, I placed a scrap piece of paper over the right-hand side of the card stock. I inked the Swallowtail in Strawberry Slush and stamped the image on another piece of scrap paper (I wanted a lighter shade of Strawberry Slush) and then stamped directly onto my card stock. I repeated the process for the other side. I then stamped the Swallowtail full on in Strawberry Slush on a scrap piece and cut it out with my paper snips. I popped it up on a lot of dimensionals and centered it between the two other wings.

Although you can’t see it in this photo, I applied some glue from the Two-Way Glue Pen and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter all over it. (The Dazzling Diamonds is being retired, but I’ve read that this product is being reconfigured and may appear in a different format in the upcoming catalog.) I then applied a Large Rhinestone Jewel (this item is also being retired).

Of course, I also don’t have envelopes on hand to accommodate a card this size, so I used the Envelope Punch Board to create one with the Strawberry Slush paper from the In-Color Designer Series Paper Stack.

With Stampin’ Up! supplies, anything is possible!

Happy stamping!

P.S.: The Swallowtail stamp did not retire. It is available now and will be available in the upcoming catalog!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Sunday!

I’m sharing one last card from my Easter class. Different pieces of this were inspired by a number of others I saw online.

There’s very little stamping involved with the card — just the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (oh, I do hope this multipurpose set stays available in the next catalog!).

I used the egg framelit from Backyard Basics to die cut the eggs from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper, and I grabbed the Just Sayin’ Framelits to die cut the clouds (sponged with a bit of ink and popped up to give them a bit of dimension.) And, I have to thank Barbara, one of my customers, for the use of her fringe scissors. When this item first appeared in the Spring Occasions catalog, I didn’t think I needed them. Oh, how wrong I was! And, then when I wanted them, I had to wait for a backorder. Lesson learned!

I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends!
