This cute little bag uses Stampin’Up!’s Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, Sweet Candy Cane stamp set, and Lights Aglow Dies.
Making handmade greeting cards with Stampin’ Up! products is fun and satisfying, but it’s awesome there are other a lot of other projects to make. With our rubber stamps, ink, and paper, we can also create a host of small gift items and gift packaging. In today’s post, you’ll learn how to create a small gift bag with the Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.
With this simple design,(inspired by In the Pink Designs by Cathryn) you can use many patterned papers, stamp sets, and ribbons to create a variety of different gift bags. Fill the gift bags with chocolates and other goodies to give to neighbors, co-workers, gym buddies, book club pals, and more.
This easy-to-create gift bag uses Stampin’ Up!’s Festive Foils Designer Series Paper, Brightest Glow Stamp Set, and Labels Aglow Dies.
Sweetest Christmas Gift Bags
To create the pattern for the box, cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 8 inches by 5 1/2 inches. You’ll be able to make two bags from each piece of 12 x 12 paper.
On the 8-inch side, score at: 1 1/4″, 3 3/4″, 5″, and 7 1/2″
On the 5 1/2-inch side, score at: 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″
With your snips, trim the pieces as shown below. Also, watch the how-to video below for a visual look at how these bags come together.
Fold into a box, secure with Tear & Tape and decorate as you wish with sentiments, ribbon, and embellishments.

You love creating handmade greeting cards with rubber stamps, ink, and paper. But sometimes, you enjoy the challenge of using a new technique to give your creations a different look.
In today’s post, I show you how to create a cool background with rubbing alcohol and Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Blends. Be sure to watch the video below to see exactly how it’s done.
Create a Fall Card with a Fun Technique
Start with a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Vellum Card Stock, cut at 5 1/4 x 4 inches
Cut a piece of Adhesive Sheets to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
Adhere the Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Vellum Card Stock
With your choice of Stampin’ Blend (alcohol-based blending markers) colors, scribble or draw on top of the Vellum
Fill a Water Painter with 91 percent rubbing alcohol
Squirt drops of rubbing alcohol on your scribbles, making sure you’ve covered most of the ink
You can let it dry as is or blow on it to move the ink around
Let it dry (it doesn’t take long)
You can then die cut or use any way you wish as a background
For the two cards above, I die cut the Vellum background with a Stitched Rectangle Die and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. I then layered it on a piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock also die cut with a Stitched Rectangle. The sentiments come from the Peaceful Moments stamp set found in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.
I love this technique because you get a different result each time. Switch out the colors to change the theme or holiday. Click here to see another example of this technique. (Please note: Some of the products used may be retired, but other stamp sets can be used.)

It’s fun to get off the beaten path of card making and try a fun fold, handmade greeting card. These are cards that have an unusual or unique fold or opening. There are certainly lots of options. Today, I’m showing you what’s called an “open panel” card. Be sure to watch the video below to see exactly how I create this card. In the video, I give the card dimensions, paper measurements, and demonstrate the two-step stamping technique.
Trimming the Tree Open Panel Card
This card features the Trimming the Tree Stamp Set and the Tree Trimmings Dies. Buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent. Look for the stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. It’s available through May 1, 2023. The coordinating die cuts, however, are a limited-time offering — available only through September 30, 2022. It’s part of the Perfect Partners promotion. See the chart below.
These dies offer fun and creative ways to not only die cut the tree but to also decorate the tree images — from bows to ornaments and more. I also used the Festive Foils Designer Series Paper.

The set includes images (and coordinating die cuts) for all four seasons. Its sentiments cover the basic greetings you frequently use, such as thank you, thinking of you, and happy birthday. Find it in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

In addition to the Season of Chic Bundle, this card features a fun fold (Open Panel Card) and uses the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper and the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set. Look below to see what the inside looks like.
It’s a great fold that works with a variety of stamp sets and patterned papers. I used this layout for my team mystery stamping event. It was so fun to see what everyone designed. Click here to view a YouTube video showing how this open panel card is created.
