Stampin” Up! Free as a Bird

A few weeks ago, my team and I had a fun gathering in Lincoln, Nebraska. They were giving me a send off to my new home in Mesa, Arizona. We had a potluck, drinks, a swim in the pool, and then we had a shoebox swap. Each attendee brought a card they designed and included enough pieces for all of us. We stamped until midnight! This is an awesome group of crafters!
This card was created by Ginger Borneman and features Stampin’ Up!’s Free as a Bird stamp set and Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. It’s so fun to color the birds with Stampin’ Blends. My card uses Stampin’ Up!’s Colorful Seasons stamp set and its coordinating Seasonal Layers Dies. It also uses a really fun technique called the Baby Wipe Technique.
Stampin’ Up! Colorful Season and Seasonal Layers Dies
The Baby Wipe Technique is super fun and allows you to create a range of awesome ink combinations, especially for the fall season. I usually grab a couple of baby wipes and stack them on top of each other. I then squirt drops of Stampin’ Up!’s ink refills onto the wipe, making sure the colors overlap. For this card, I used: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Garden Green. You then press your stamp onto the baby wipe and then onto your paper (I used Shimmery White). You can move your stamp around to different sections of the wipe to attain different color variations. I then used the coordinating dies to crop the leaves from the paper.
Other fun elements of this card include: Background paper from the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper, Gold Foil, the Stitched Nested Labels, and the sentiment from the Country Home stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Time for Tags
Hello Stampers!
There’s a really versatile host set in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog called Time for Tags. It has a variety of sentiments and pairs with the Timeless Label Punch. For this card, I also used the brand-new Delightful Tag Topper Punch and the In Color (Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Blueberry Bushel) 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper stacks. I colored the images using Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Write Markers.
It’s a fun, colorful card that can be shared with anyone, but especially those who love hot air balloons.

Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape
Hello Stampers!
Tucked on page 172 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog is a really cool product — Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape. It’s a two-roll package, but the one roll is so different than any other washi tape I’ve used before. It peels off in petals so you can create your own flowers! How fun is that?
I started with a white 1/2-inch circle and peeled the petals off the roll one by one. I affixed the centers onto the circle until I had created a flower. You can use the embossing buddy on the back of the flower to prevent the flower from totally sticking to your paper. One roll contains about 100 petals allowing you to create anywhere from 16 to 20 flowers per roll, depending on how many petals you use.
This card was inspired by a journal decorated by Ellen Woodbridge. I easily turned it into a card using other fun Stampin’ Up! products including a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, Pearlized Doilies, the Leaf Punch, Classic Label Punch, Subtle Embossing Folder, and Faceted Gems.
