I don’t know the official count of how many days are left until Christmas. But, I do know, I should start to prepare!
Gift cards have become popular present options. And, it’s nice to have a fun wrapping mechanism for them. A look at Pinterest shows so many gift card holders in an array of designs. Today, I show you one of those: a pop-up gift card holder.
Here’s what the inside looks like:
Here are a few measurements to help you get started:
Real Red card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 10, Score at 2, 5, 6, and 7, 1 inch x 7 inches
For the sentiment, I used the Season’s Greetings from the Greetings of the Season stamp set. I die cut it with a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies and layered it on Real Red and Garden Green circles.

A few weeks ago, Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass shared a cool technique on her Facebook page: heat embossing on glimmer paper. I don’t have the products she used, but I wanted to try it. It’s just so fun, and, well, glittery! It really packs a wow!
Currently, Stampin’ Up! offers four different packages of glimmer paper. That gives you a whole slate of choices to try this technique yourself. And, you may have some glimmer paper in your stash.
Measurements
Here are some measurements and information to help you get started:
Thick Basic White Card Stock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at folded at 4 1/4
Old Olive Card Stock panel measuring 5 1/4 x 4
Basic White Card Stock panel measuring 5 x 3 3/4, embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder
Real Red (or Cherry Cobbler) Card Stock measuring 5 x 1 3/4
Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper measuring 5 x 1/2

I really enjoy making little treat boxes and bags to give as class favors, party favors, and gifts to friends. Stampin’ Up! makes this easy with the array of products it offers. In today’s post, I use the Book Treat Boxes to make a gift card holder or candy holder.

Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper
This festive patterned paper features traditional holiday images: holly and berries, candles, snowflakes, candy canes, Christmas trees, and more! Fussy cut individual elements for quick accents. Or cut the lantern and candy cane paper into six pieces to make quick card fronts. This paper was hand-drawn in colored pencils for original designs you won’t find anywhere else.

Cutting & Scoring:
Real Red Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and folded, 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Basic White Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4” (2), 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”, scrap
Take A Bow 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper – eight various squares each measuring 1 ¼” x 1 ¼”
Festive 12 x 12 Glimmer Paper (Garden Green) – 2 ¾” x 3”
Instructions:
Arrange the eight 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” squares on the 5 ¼” x 4” Basic White Cardstock: three along the top, four down the right side, and three on the bottom. Tip: Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue so you have some time to place the squares.
Emboss the 2 3/8” x 2 3/8” Basic White Cardstock square with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. Attach to 2 ½” x 2 ½” Real Red Cardstock square. Add to panel in the remaining space on the panel.
Glue entire panel to Real Red Cardstock base.
Die cut the Garden Green 2 ¾” x 3” Festive Glimmer Paper with the second largest tree die from the Merriest Trees Dies.
With Stampin’ Dimensionals, pop tree up on the white embossed piece.
Stamp Love & Joy sentiment with Real Red ink on Basic White scrap. Cut edges of card stock at a diagonal.
Place remaining Basic White Cardstock 5 ¼” x 4” piece in the center of the card.
