Beach Boardwalk Birthday Card

Sometimes, all you need is a great piece of Designer Series Paper to do all the work for you on a card. In this case, it’s Stampin’ Up!’s Beach Boardwalk 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. It brings summer vibes to your crafting with beachy designs, palm trees, and a festive Ferris wheel!

For today’s cards, I focused on an image from the patterned paper and cut it into strips. See the information below for the cutting directions.

Measurements and Directions

  • Secret Sea cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Stamped palm tree from the Boardwalk Fun stamp set in Secret Sea ink along the bottom of the card front.
  • Beach Boardwalk DSP measuring 3 1/4 x 4. Popped up on card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Pieces of Beach Boardwalk DSP cut into strips measuring 3 3/4 x 1 1/4, 3 3/4 x 1, 3 3/4 x 3/4, and 3 3/4 x 1/2. Be sure to keep the strips in order as you place them on the card front.
  • Sentiment stamped with Secret Sea ink on a scrap of the Beach Boardwalk DSP
  • Basic Rhinestone

Here’s another version using a different pattern from the Designer Series Paper. The card base is Blackberry Bliss and the rest of the pieces measure the same as above and come from the package of Beach Boardwalk DSP.

This fun layout and cutting technique works with a variety of patterned papers, stamps, and ink. See what you can make by just cutting your paper into strips.
