With the turn of the calendar to September, many cities, towns, and states can expect a shift to lower temperatures. The foliage begins to turn colors. Fall is on the way. My card sample today reflects those changes. Stampin’ Up!’s Gathering Together 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper definitely captures the beauty of fall. The colors include: Basic Beige, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, champagne, and Old Olive.

I tried something a little different with the leaf design from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Mask collection. Be sure to watch the video below to see step-by-step instructions for creating this card. It’s a new-to-me heat embossing technique.
Cherry Cobbler card stock measuring 5 1/4 x 1 13/4 lightly taped to the back of the leaf design mask. (Rub card stock with embossing buddy before taping.)
Liberally apply Versamark ink on top of mask, ensuring you have good ink coverage.
Remove card stock from mask. Cover with gold embossing folder, tapping off the excess.
Heat with heat tool, heating all surfaces.
Add to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring 5 1/4 x 4 embossed with a folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Add a strip (1/4 x 5 1/4) of Gold Foil adjacent to the embossed piece.
On a Very Vanilla square die cut with the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies, stamp the leaf image from Cheers to the Season in Cherry Cobbler ink.
Pop up on card front with dimensionals.
Add gold Simply Elegant Trim and gold sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
Card base is Cherry Cobbler cut a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
I think this is a super fun heat embossing technique that adds a lot to the card. It also give you another way to use the decorative mask. I look forward to trying it with the snowflake mask in that collection.
