For this project (inspired by Janet Wakeland):
- I cleaned a tile (found at a local hardware store)
- Rubbed the embossing buddy across the blank slate
- Inked the cardinal image with Versamark ink
- Stamped the tile
- Sprinkled black embossing powder on the tile
- Shook off the excess
- Heat embossed with heat gun (The stone will become very hot. You’ll want to let it cool.)
- Colored the image with Stampin’ Up!’s Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers
Love it!

Does the embossing and blendabilities hold up to moisture?
Hi Nancy! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I tried using the tile as an actual coaster (instead of a decoration) today and neither the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities nor the embossing smeared with the moisture. Have fun!

Have you done other things on tile like just plain stamping or using regular markers
Karla, I have not tried any other techniques on coasters. I do know that if you want the image not to “run” when exposed to moisture, you’d either have to heat emboss or use Stazon. I’ve heard of people using markers, but you may have to bake them in the oven. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
