For today’s card, I’m using the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder Bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives offering. This stamp set and hybrid embossing folder produce some really awesome images and textures. (The hybrid embossing folder allows you to die cut and dry emboss at the same time.)
A quick note: This bundle has been extremely popular. It’s expected to be back in stock the week of September 2, 2024. Please contact me if you need help ordering or watching the inventory report for it.
And, I combine that with the heat embossing technique and a fun fold — the flip front fun fold.

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen August Blog Hop! Thanks for joining us in August! This month, we feature cards and projects centering on the theme “Hot Summer Nights.” Be sure to visit all of the blogs on the hop (see the list at the end of this post) to see how each stamper interpreted this assignment.
Summer brings back many memories for me, including enjoying Minnesota lakes for many seasons. Now that we live in Arizona, the scenery has changed a little. I find myself enjoying palm trees and gorgeous sunsets.
This gave me the perfect opportunity to use Stampin’ Up!’s Beach Day stamp set and coordinating Beach Day Dies. So much fun building a little scene with some of the images.
Beach Day Enjoy Today
Can you believe the stamp set has never seen ink? I’m glad I got these out and used them for today’s card. Here are a few details to help you create this card at home:
Night of Navy card stock base measuring 11 x 4 1/4, scored and folded at 5 1/2
Basic Black card stock panel measuring 5 3/8 x 3 4 1/8
White card stock 5 1/4 x 4. I applied Pool Party ink with a blending brush to the whole piece and then applied Night of Navy ink, giving it an ombre or graduated look. I then embossed this panel with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
Basic Back card stock panel measuring 4 3/8 x 3 1/8
Basic White panel measuring 4 1/4 x 3 (2)
Punched a 2 3/8 circle in one of the above panels and placed it on top of the other. I first applied Crushed Curry ink with a blending brush and then Pumpkin Pie.
Palm tree created with Pecan Pie and Old Olive glimmer paper.
A scrap of Crumb Cake for the sand
Added Linen Thread and Night of Navy gems from the Opal Rounds Assortment.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my card. Please let me know if you have any questions.
