Fun with the Fourth!

Picture

Hello Stampers!

When I began rubber stamping almost 20 years ago, my goal was to send cards for special events and holidays — and the Fourth of July is one of them. Here is one of the designs for this year’s card.

I was playing with some of the new products in Stampin’ Up!’s new catalog. Although this card has many fun features, I had fun with the Decorative Masks (Hearts and Stars p. 205). They are a steal at $2.95 for each package of two. I sponged Night of Navy ink (with SU!’s sponge daubers) onto Crumb Cake Card stock. Easy and fun!

Here are the ingredients:

  • Any Many More Stamp Set
  • Crumb Cake and Real Red Card Stock
  • Silver and Red Glimmer Paper
  • Night of Navy Classic Stampin’d Pad
  • Stars Collection Framelits
  • Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack
  • Eclectic Piercing Pack
  • Modern Label Punch

Enjoy!

Lovely Thinking of You

Hello Stampers!

When I saw this card posted this weekend by Mary Bush, I knew it was next on my “to make” list. I just love it! It’s so soft, so beautiful! You’ll just have to make one to see for yourself how the colors and layout just make for a lovely card!

Here are the supplies I used:

  • By the Seashore and Four You stamp sets
  • Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla card stock
  • Sahara Sand (for the shells) and Early Espresso (for the sentiment) Classic Stampin’ Pads
  • 1 1/2 inch and 1 3/8 inch square punch (could also use the Squares Collection Framelits)

Thanks to Mary for sharing her creation. I was inspired to get into my craft room and create!

Happy Father’s Day!

Hello Stampers!

It’s that day to say “Happy Father’s Day” to all the dads out there. I had to get the card to my dad in the mail, so I used the May Paper Pumpkin Kit but didn’t catch a photo before I sent it off.

This is the card (inspired by Kay Kalthoff) I made for my hubby! (I also used a version of this card for a retirement party this last weekend. I just changed the sentiment — from Teeny Tiny Wishes — to Happy Retirement. As an aside, I just love that set; there is a sentiment for just about everything!) I cut the sentiment with the Word Window Punch.

I started with a Soft Sky base and added “grass” created from the Fringe Scissors. I made the golf ball with the new 2-inch circle punch and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I topped it off with some clouds (sponged with Soft Sky ink) die cut with the Word Bubbles Framelits.

Simple and fun and does the job!

Have a great day!
