This Bird is a Beauty

Hello Stampers!
Had a fun Christmas card class last night! There are just so many fun Stampin’ Up! sets and techniques to share! This card uses the Beauty of the Season set.
I started with watercolor paper, embossed the image with black embossing powder, and heat embossed. We then used the Aquapainter dipped in Cherry Cobbler ink (while the pad is closed, squish the top and bottom together to get a pool of ink in the lid. Dip the Aquapainter in here and color the cardinal.
I used a Blender pen with Crushed Curry for the beak, Baked Brown Sugar for the Branches and Cherry Cobbler for the berries. We then dabbed dots of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to give it a little bling.
We then stamped the Hardwood Background in Baked Brown Sugar onto Baked Brown Sugar and accented with the lovely Cherry Cobbler 1-inch sheer ribbon.
If you live in the Lincoln, Nebraska, area I’d love to have you join me for class.
    Wherever you live, happy stamping!

Preparing for Thanksgiving

Hello Stampers!

Thanksgiving is a little bit more than a month away, and I’m preparing some cards to celebrate the season. This is one of the cards we made in last week’s class. It goes together so quickly and easily, and it’s very classy.

I used a strip of each of the Washi tapes from the Color Me Autumn designs on top of a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I die cut the leaf with the Autumn Accents Bigz with the Cajun Craze card stock and ran it through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I used to a Stampin’ Dimensional on the back to give it some depth. I topped off the card with the sentiment from Teeny TIny Wishes.

It’s not too early to begin planning the cards, decor and table settings for your Thanksgiving celebration. I’d love to give you some ideas to celebrate a festive season.

Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary!

Hello Stampers!

Some special friends are celebrating their anniversary, and that calls for a special card, right? They do a little biking so thought the bicycle from the Hostess Set Life’s Adventure would work well.

I stamped the bikes with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Soft Sky Card Stock. The wheels got a little bling with the Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey Candy Dots. I trimmed it with a fun piece of Washi Tape from the All is Calm collection. The sentiment comes from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. Add a cloud cut from the Word Bubbles Framelits and a sun from the Starburst Framelits and you have a fun little scene.

Happy stamping!
