Thanks, Kohl’s Associates!

Hello Stampers!

About a month ago, the local Make A Wish chapter (I work with them on a card-making project) contacted me and asked if I could make 400 of Stampin’ Up!’s Curvy Keepsake Die boxes for an upcoming event. That’s a lot of boxes and takes about seventeen packages of Pacific Point card stock.

But I knew I could complete the project with help from my friends and others. The Kohl’s associates gladly volunteered, and this week eight of them from Lincoln’s north store came to my home to work. In one afternoon, we created 220 of the candy-filled boxes. We could have finished more, but I had run out of paper. (The south Kohl’s store is working on another 75.)

Thanks to all of the Kohl’s associates and friends, customers, and team members who helped me complete this project.. I know Make A Wish will love them.

Enjoy!

Valentine Treats!

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Are you ready? Valentine’s Day is less than a week away! Here are some fun treat packets you can whip up quickly. Fill them with anything you like and decorate to your “heart’s” content.

I started with a 6 x 6 sheet of paper from Stampin’ Up!s’ Designer Series Paper Stacks. I rolled the paper into a cylinder, put adhesive on one edge and adhered the two sides together. Then, I placed adhesive on one end of the cylinder and squeezed it together. I filled it with some chocolate and then applied adhesive to the opposite end and squeezed it together. I did use a crimper, on both ends, but the project still works if you don’t have one. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Tear and Tape Adhesive; it’s a really strong tape that holds your projects together well — especially if treats are involved.

For these particular “sour cream container” treats, I accented with color-coordinated banners of DSP, some gold foil paper, and some punched hearts. Easy peasy and fun! Oh, and I covered clothespins with the gold foil paper for an extra touch.

Free? Did Someone Say Free?

Picture

Hello Stampers!

This stamp set (Sky is the Limit), featuring this awesome airplane, is just one of eleven free items offered during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration promotion. Please note: The Sky is the Limit set is only available until February 15.

How do you get yours? Place a $50 order (before tax and shipping) and you’re good to go! View some of the other Sale-A-Bration selections here or contact me to get a catalog.

To create this card , I used a bunch of ideas collected from other stampers.

  • The base is Daffodil Delight
  • I inked the World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Soft Sky ink with a brayer (remember to ink the side of the folder that says Stampin’ Up!/Sizziz) and embossed a piece Soft Sky Card Stock.
  • I stamped the “sun” image from the Kinda Eclectic with Daffodil Delight ink on the Soft Sky piece from the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper (this paper pack is also free with a $50 purchase. It’s available until Feb. 15.)
  • I then stamped the sentiment in black and the clouds in Soft Sky.
  • For the airplane, I started in the middle and stamped in black, and without re-inking, moved the image down and to the left and stamped again, leaving the impression the airplane is moving.
  • I then punched a piece of vellum with a 3/4-inch circle punch (got this idea from Tami White) and attached it with a mini silver brad.
  • I layered that piece on Basic Black card stock

I’m having a Sale-A-Bration Celebration! Earn your way in by doing one of the following:

  • During the Sale-A-Bration months of January, February, and March, purchase $150 worth of product from me;
  • Host a stampin’ party or girls’ night out;
  • Purchase the starter kit for $99 and receive $155 worth of product that’s all shipped free. This is a great deal!

The celebration will be held April 9 and includes prizes, games, food, fun, and free make-and-takes. Contact me for details.

Bloomin’ Love!

Hello Stampers!

I’m addicted to die cutting this beautiful heart image! When used with Stampin’ Up!’s Precision Base Plate, it creates an almost laser-like image. It is just so beautiful with all types of paper — from white and colored card stock, to glimmer paper, and foil paper. Believe me, I’ve tried them all!

It makes an elegant Valentine card but it can be used for other occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and bridal showers.

Check the list below for the list of supplies I used to create this card that measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.

Remember, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin’ Up!’s most exciting sale of the year is underway. For each $50 in purchase (before tax and shipping), receive a free, exclusive item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Choose from stamp sets and Designer Series Paper packs.

Do you have a ton of items on your wish list? Purchase the Starter Kit for $99 and receive your choice of $155 in product. It’s all shipped free! Receive a minimum 20 percent discount on your future purchases! (No obligation to host parties or workshops.)
