Are you looking to make some quick, easy, and gorgeous handmade greeting cards? Today’s post features two cards with an accompanying video.
I use Stampin’ Up!’s Splendid Day Stamp Set, the coordinating Splendid Stems Dies (buy them as a bundle and save 10 percent), and the Splendid Day 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. This paper is just gorgeous, sporting beautiful full page foil designs on one side of the double-sided paper. Find all of these products in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog on pages 64 and 65.
The top card uses thin strips of the foil design from the patterned paper. Cut a bunch of these at one time and create multiple cards. Each strip measures 5 inches x 3/4 inches. The coordinating base is Mint Macaron, as is the ink for the sentiment. I used the Double Oval Punch to layer the sentiment and added ribbon.
This second card (above) shows an example of the die stenciling technique. (See this post for another card sample and video.)

I’ve been having some fun with some “fun fold” cards inspired by Jackie Bolhuis. Today’s card features the Christmas Lights Bundle in conjunction with the Lights Aglow 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. Find these on pages 30-32 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.
Here are some basic measurements for this card. Be sure to watch this video to see exactly how it goes together.
Card Base measures 7 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches, score at 3 inches
Coordinating card stock measures 1 /2 inches x 4, score at 1 inch — this is the tab/arm for your fun fold
Card stock measuring 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
Basic card stock measuring 3 x 3. This is where you’ll add a die cut and/or stamp and sentiment.
Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 and 5 1/4 x 1 1/4
Color card stock 1/4 x 5 1/4
Basic White measuring 5 1/4 x 4

From the time I was born, my family spent our summers at “the lake.” First, it started as just a weeklong vacation, and that turned into two weeks, and then three months. What memories we made during these idyllic summers in Minnesota. We spent entire days in our swim suits, reading books on the dock. So Stampin’ Up!’s Sunny Splash stamp set holds some nostalgia. (Find this set in Stampin’ Up’s Annual Catalog on page 41.)
I’ve had a lot of fun creating with this set. Today, I combine it with a fun fold inspired by Jackie Bolhuis.

Sunny Splash Fun Fold
Here are some basic measurements for this card. Be sure to watch the video at the end of this post, to see exactly how it goes together.
I inked the Rays of Light stamp set with Crushed Curry and “stamped off” on a scratch paper and then applied the stamp to my 3 x 3 square. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point and the swim suit in Melon Mambo.
Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 and 5 1/4 x 1 1/4
Color card stock 1/4 x 5 1/4
Basic White measuring 5 1/4 x 4

I have this crazy goal: I want to actually use some of the great crafting goodies I buy! Seriously! When Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog came out at the beginning of May, I bought the Dots & Spots Die. (That’s the die that makes the dotted background; the one that almost looks like cheese.) It looks cool, I thought. I should be able to do something fun with that. But, it sat there and sat there.
This last weekend, I made my way into the craft room and played with paper and that die specifically. Click here to see a fun, summer-themed card made with this die.
And then I thought: why not Halloween? I had just received the Bewitching stamp set and coordinating Witch Hat Builders Punch. Perhaps I could use all of these elements together.
Thus, the card above came to life.
Dots & Spots Die for Halloween
Here’s a quick recap of how this card came together:
Pumpkin Pie card base
Basic Black layer measuring 5 1/4 x 4 run through the Dots & Spots Die (attached to card front with just a little of glue strategically placed between the dots).
Layering Circles dies for the scallop circle
Stylish Shapes Dies for the black circle
Stamp dotted witch’s hat with black ink on white card stock, colored with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends
Pumpkin Pie banner with Stylish Shapes Dies
Finished with a bow created with black baker’s twine
Do you love the Dots & Spots Die? Get it free during this last month of SaleABration (through August 31, 2022, or while supplies last) with a minimum $100 purchase before tax and shipping. Click here to start shopping and choose this as your free item.

When I first “spotted” it in the catalog, Stampin’ Up!’s Dots and Spots Die intrigued me! (Find it on page 170 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.) It’s the large die that creates the dotted background seen in the card above.
It normally sells for $32, but beginning today (August 2, 2022), earn it free with a $100 order before shipping and tax. Yes, Stampin’ Up! has added to its SaleABration options. Click here to see the original brochure. (Please note: These are available while supplies last. The Soft Seafoam and Pool Party Notecards and Tree Lot Dies have already sold out. So, if there’s something you want, I encourage you to get it sooner rather than later.)
New SaleABration Offerings
Here’s a graphic that shows the other options now available. SaleABration means your choice of free products for minimum orders of $50 and $100 before tax and shipping.
Back to today’s card! The Dots and Spots Die makes a great background or you can use it as a stencil. I played around with it and created a few cards, sharing one of them — in a couple of different color combinations — with you today.
This card also uses Stampin’ Up!’s Sunny Splash stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. I’m drawn to the bright and cheery colors of Melon Mambo, Pool Party, and Mango Melody. I switched them around to create different versions of the same card.
