If you haven’t heard, Stampin’ Up! is retiring a list of items to make room for brand-new, cool stamp sets, inks, papers, and accessories. This large background stamp, the Swallowtail, is one that will no longer be available beginning June 1. I love this image because it’s big; it takes up the whole card! It’s also beautiful!

Here, I’m showcasing the technique called Triple Time Stamping. (As a side note, I swapped this card while I was attending Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event in Salt Lake City in April.)
It looks complicated, but once you have the measurements, you can use any combination of stamps to create this same effect. The Whisper White card stock is cut at 2 x 3 1/4, 3 x 4 1/4 and 4 x 5 1/4. The solid card stock is cut at 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, 3 1/4 by 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
Layer and center the Whisper White card stock pieces on top of one another — with the smallest piece on the top. (You can use a smidge of adhesive to keep the pieces in place while you stamp.) Stamp the images on the card stock. In this case, I used a couple of images from the Butterfly Basics stamp set in Mint Macaron and Wisteria Wonder. The Swallowtail is stamped in Elegant Eggplant.
Separate the stamped images and layer each on the coordinating color card stock — in this case, Wisteria Wonder. I used a sentiment from the endless birthday stamp set and punched it with the Washi Label Punch. (I’m sorry, this punch has been retired and is sold out.)
I hope you enjoy creating a version of this card with other colors or using a variety of other images.
