OK, I admit it: I am a flamingo fanatic. I have flamingo socks. I have flamingo lawn ornaments. I have light-up flamingos. I have flamingo jewelry. So Stampin’ Up!’s Pop of Paradise set is perfect for me. It’s been awhile since I’ve inked it up, but it sure is fun. I am also pleased to see it will carry-over into Stampin’ Up!’s next catalog.
Of course, the technique for this card occurred to me in the middle of the night.
I started with a sheet of Shimmery White card stock. I inked the flamingo with Versamark and stamped it on the paper. I then heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Using the Aqua Painter, I applied a light wash of water and then dipped the tip in Flirty Flamingo ink and washed it over the flamingo. I let it dry before adhering to a piece of Basic Black card stock.
I then stamped the thank-you image in black and fussy cut it. I adhered it to the front of the card with Glue Dots. The background paper is a piece from the 2016-2018 In-Color Designer Series Paper Stack. Although it’s being retired, it is still available to order.
I then added a bit of of Solid Black Baker’s Twine to finish it off.
