Hearts of Elegance Valentine

For today’s handmade card, I feature a technique I used for one of my many Christmas cards. (See that post by clicking here.)

I use strips/scraps of Designer Series Paper as a focal point to create a Valentine card. Find the die cuts and sentiment in Stampin’ Up!’s Hearts of Elegance Bundle, some of the Online Exclusive offerings. This bundle offers a variety of heart-shaped dies and sentiments for creating a variety of Valentine and love-themed cards.

Hearts of Elegance Bundle

Measurements and Details

  • Cherry Cobbler card stock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Basic White card stock panel measuring 5 x 3 3/4. Die cut heart first. Then emboss the panel with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder.
  • Basic White card stock panel measuring 4 3/4 x 3 1/2. Layer 1/2-inch strips of the Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper and Gold Foil Sheets on this panel. Tip: I use the lines on the Grid Paper to ensure the lines are straight.
  • Pop up with die cut and embossed panel on the sheet from above.
  • Add all to Cherry Cobbler card base.
  • Heat emboss the “xoxo” sentiment with gold on Cherry Cobbler card stock and die cut with heart.
  • Add the heart above and another heart die cut with Gold Foil Sheets to card front.
  • Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/4-inch Satin Ribbon
  • Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins
