For the “Wish” Kids

Picture

Hello Stampers!

If you’re like me, you have overflowing stacks of Designer Series Paper, drawers full of card stock, shelves stocked with stamp sets and containers filled with ribbon and embellishments — enough supplies to last several lifetimes! What to do with it all? Use it!

I recently contacted the Lincoln, Nebraska, office of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a nonprofit organization that
grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. At first, I thought maybe it could use cards to thank people who donated. But the program director had all kinds of other great ideas.

To start, we are going to make cards that can be given to wish kids and their families as they embark on their adventure. More than 100 children in Lincoln receive a wish each year. That is amazing!

This is one of the designs I made for that
purpose. The Big Wish from the Spring Occasions Catalog is perfect for this purpose as is the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

How can you use your stash of supplies?
Happy stamping!

Sharing What We Love With Others

Picture

Happy Friday!

Part of Stampin’ Up!’s mission is to share what we love with others.
Sharing my time, my talents, and my stamps, paper, and ink is probably one of my most favorite aspects of being a demonstrator. I
want everyone to experience the same satisfaction as I do when creating something handmade.

So I always say “yes” when a friend asks me to help them create an invitation or party favors for a bridal or baby shower.

This is one of our recent creations. We worked with the Baby Prints and A Dozen Thoughts Stamp set and used a Basic Gray and Midnight Muse color combination. The Chevron Embossing Folder added an additional flair.

My friends created 50 of these invites! I’m sure the mom
-to-be was thrilled with the care and attention the hosts

Our Final Swap Card

Picture

Hello Stampers!

I’m showing you one last card for my recent team meeting swap. This one was created by Bonnie Bake. She used the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape to create banners for her card. Bonnie also grabbed the “Hello” sentiment from
the Lacy and Lovely Set and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.

It was so fun to see what these creative stampers came up with for our first team swap.

On March 8, we’ll all be sharing our cards at St. Mark’s Spring Craft Show in Lincoln, Nebraska, from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Come see us if you are in town!
