Fluttering Garden Reverse Gate Fold

Fluttering Garden Reverse Gate Fold

Did you know that Paper Pumpkin started in 2013, and since then has shipped more than 5.2 million kits? That’s amazing!

What is Paper Pumpkin? It’s a monthly kit subscription delivered to your mailbox each month. Although there are sneak peeks, it’s mostly a surprise when you open your box and look at the contents. Kits vary from cards, to treat packets, to home decor. They arrive with everything you need to make the project inside, including card bases, die cuts, mini ink pad, stamp set, embellishments, envelopes, adhesives, and directions. First-time subscribers receive a free, clear block. Click here to subscribe or contact me for more information.

Generally, when my kit arrives, I make the kit as instructed. However, in the last few months, I’ve created alternates — cards and/or projects using many of the kit’s components. There’s even a Facebook page (Paper Pumpkin Fan Club), where crafters can post their alternates, and others can view them for inspiration.

Here’s a picture of the cards created exactly as the kit shows. This kit makes three each of three desings.

Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin Kit

For today’s card, I used March’s Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin Kit to create a Reverse Gate Fold fun fold.

Measurements and Details

  • Pool Party cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 1 7/8, 3, 5 1/2, and 6 5/8
  • Cut up the card base from the kit: two pieces measuring 5 1/4 x 1 5/8
  • Cut the card base from the kit: one piece measuring 5 1/4 x 2 1/4
  • Stamped the garden/grass image with Pool Party ink on those pieces before adhering to card base.
  • Spotlight on Nature die cut from card base
  • I took apart one of the envelopes and die cut it with the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Used sentiment and hummingbird die cut images included in the kit
  • Added gems, also included in the kit

Everything you need is in one box! After the initial subscription month, you can skip or cancel. Subscribers are also offered refills (when available) and add-on die cuts.

Lovely Arrangements Hello Friend

Lovely Arrangements Hello Friend

Today, I’m sharing one of the cards we made during my monthly in-person classes in Mesa, Arizona, with Stampin’ Up!’s Lovely Arrangements Bundle. I shared a quick sponging technique using one of the die cuts. Do you see the one below with the pattern?

I cut a piece of Thick Basic White Cardstock to 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 and die cut with the patterned piece. I then placed the cardstock on my card base and sponged on Secret Sea ink with a sponge dauber. Basically, I made a stencil, and it creates a really fun background.

Lovely Arrangements Bundle

Measurements and Details

  • Crumb Cake cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Sponge the background using the above directions using the stencil. I applied the ink in the upper left corner and bottom right.
  • Secret Sea cardstock measuring 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, die cut with the multi-circle die cut shape
  • Flowers stamped in Secret Sea and die cut with coordinating dies
  • Sentiment stamped in Secret Sea and die cut with coordinating die
  • Secret Sea 3/8-inch Bordered Open Weave Ribbon
  • Moody Palette Glossy Dots

I do love this bundle for its variety of sentiments and its unique die cuts. Check out another card here.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Please let me know if you have questions about this DIY project or any others.

Thanks,
