An Embossed Happy Birthday

Picture

Hello Stampers!

I’m fortunate to be heading to Orlando, Florida, with more than 7,000 other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s 30th birthday. It will be four days packed with fun, stamping, presentations, and swapping.

Most of the stampers will be bringing their own handmade cards and exchanging them among each other. These are great to bring home for samples and to showcase everyone’s creativity.

This is one of three cards I created for swapping. (I will post the others as the week progresses.)

I tried a new technique using the embossing mats that were a new offering in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. The embossing mats essentially turn your dies into “embossing” mechanisms. When you use the mats and the Big Shot, you emboss the paper. And that’s what I did with the Happy Birthday framelits. And, it’s so pretty with the Gold Foil.

Give Thanks Takeout Treats

Picture

 Hello Stampers!

I just love, love, love little boxes and treat packets! So, it’s no surprise I was attracted to the Takeout Thinlits Dies available in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog. My mind is just going crazy with all of the fun papers and embellishments you can use on these boxes.

Here is the box I made for my team for a gift for October. I used the dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to crop leaves in fall colors. I used a combination of awesome falls colors: Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso.

Scroll down a bit and you’ll see another fun box. I saw this idea online from friend Delys Cram. How cute is Batman? It uses the bat punch in conjunction with the Black Foil Sheets.

Thanks for stopping by today. See a list of ingredients below used on this project. Please let me know if you have questions about how this box came together. I’d love to help!

Simply Thankful for All Things

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs are full of inspiration! I really love the home décor piece on page 42 of the Holiday Catalog, but I wanted to make a card instead.

I adapted the products, and this is the end result. It is so pretty and elegant, especially with the use of the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. I embossed the Galvanized Metallic Paper with the folder, distressed the piece lightly with a sanding block, and sponged Early Espresso ink onto the surface. It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but this technique just adds a vintage, worn look.

One other quick technique was coloring the Braided Linen Trim using the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. I love that we can create any color of ribbon or trim using these alcohol markers.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please let me know if you have questions about today’s card.

Tin Tile Halloween

Picture

Hello Stampers!

There’s a ton of Halloween candy on store shelves, so it must be time for a card. I was inspired by one created by Dawn Olchefske (DoStamping). I changed it up a bit by adding the Black Foil background embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.

Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog is filled with a ton of awesome new product, but one of my favorites is the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. It looks awesome with any card stock, but be sure to try it with all of Stampin’ Up!’s foils (silver, gold, champagne, and copper) as well as the Galvanized Metallic Paper. This folder mimics the ceilings often found in older buildings. Give it a look!

Another really fun touch to this card is the Spider Trinket. Not only is it fun on a card, but imagine turning them into earrings.

Thanks for stopping by today. Let me know if you have questions about it; I’d be happy to help!
