Do More of What Makes You Happy!

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Do more of what makes you happy! I love that! I guess I’ll keep right on stamping.

I created this card as part of a challenge my upline sponsored for a recent team meeting. The requirements were to use the Stampin’ Up! colors of Wisteria Wonder, Always Artichoke, and Crumb Cake. Mission accomplished!

I started with a piece of Shimmery White card stock. Using an Aqua Painter, I swiped those three ink colors across the paper and let them dry. I stamped the image from the Hello Life stamp set (featured in the Spring Occasions catalog) in Jet Black Stazon. I layered the Shimmery White on a piece of Always Artichoke.

To create the background, I sponged Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake Card stock using the Hearts and Stars Mask. I topped it off with Wisteria Wonder Baker’s Twine (retired) and the Basics Hodgepodge Clips.

I don’t often have time to participate in challenges, but as I recuperate from hip replacement surgery, I’ve had some extra time. I’m very thankful I don’t need my leg to stamp!

Enjoy!

It’s an Exciting Time at Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stamping Friends:

There is a lot going on in the crafting world, and I want to share a few important dates and reminders with you.

Retirement List
Stampin’ Up!’s new 2015-2016 catalog goes live June 2. To make room for new stamps, ink, paper, embellishments, and more, SU! has released a list of items that will be retiring. See the list here. Some of the items are being offered at up to 50 percent off. If there is something you can’t live without, order it now. Some of the items are only available while supplies last.

When you open the spreadsheet, you’ll notice some of the products have an X in the last box. This means the item is sold out. However, all of the other goodies are still available. All stamp sets will be guaranteed through May 26. Please contact me if you have any questions about this list or any product in particular. If it’s available, any of the product on this list can be purchased through June 3.

New Catalog
We can begin ordering from the new catalog June 2. (WooHoo!) I’ve seen a sneak peek and there are some really fun things in there! I should receive my stash of catalogs mid-May. Contact me to get your copy.

One note about the new catalog. Prices for Stampin’ Up! products have remained unchanged since 2009. You’ll notice some small price increases in the new catalog. In particular, the Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads are $6.50, a difference of 55 cents. If stamp pads are on your wish list, order them before June 3 to save some money.

On the other hand, embossing folders have decreased in price, and you’ll be excited to see some of the new offerings.

My Upcoming Events
Throughout the next couple of months, I am offering some events and classes geared toward the release of the new catalog.

Thursday, May 14, 6:30 p.m., Come Play with Paper. Do you have projects you need to work on? Paper Pumpkin? Cards? Scrapbooks? Join me for a free night of stamping where you bring your own project and just stamp with friends. I’ll have my trimmer, Big Shot, dies, embossing folders, and ink available for use. Please RSVP. Space is limited.

Thursday, May 28, 6:30 p.m., Create with Kim. We’ll create four all-occasion greeting cards using Stampin’ Up!’s Sheltering Tree stamp set. Cost is $10 or free with a $25 order. Please RSVP.

Thursday, June 4: 6-9 p.m., BOGO (Buy One Get One) Sale. I’ll have retired stamp sets, die cuts, embossing folders and accessories for sale at the retail price posted in the previous catalogs. I’ll tally your “purchases” (which you get to take home) and you’ll receive a certificate to purchase an equal amount of product from Stampin’ Up!’s new annual catalog, plus tax and shipping. You’ll have until June 30 to redeem your certificate for the new product.

Thursday, June 11: 6:30 p.m., Let’s celebrate the launch of Stampin’ Up!’s new 2015-2016 Annual Catalog with a bingo night! The cost per person is $15 and we’ll play 10 games of bingo. Prizes will include stamp sets and accessories from the new catalog. We’ll also make a quick and cute card using new products. Snacks and fun! Cost is $15 per person. Please RSVP by June 1 to reserve your spot. Space is limited.

I’m also available to do a private party or girls’ night out or to help with a fundraiser or card-making effort for groups.

Please let me know how I can help in your crafting endeavors!

Celebrate Today: It’s Graduation Time!

Picture

Hello Stampers!

I don’t know about you, but the graduation announcements and invitations have been arriving in the mail. I’m prepared thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s Celebrate Today stamp set and matching balloon framelits. This card came together quickly and easily!

Inspired by Susie Wood, my card base is the cool Brushed Silver Card Stock. The Basic Black Card Stock was punched with the Confetti Stars Punch to add an air of celebration. It’s topped off with additional stars punched from the shiny Silver Foil paper.

Treat your favorite graduate with a fun, handmade card.

Hip-Hip Hooray

Picture

Hello Stampers!

I’m having a little fun with Stampin’ Up!’s new photopolymer set called Just Kidding (paired with the sentiment from the Hip Hip Hooray card kit). The images in this set are perfect for using the Blender Pens and the ink pads. You can “dress” her up any way you like!

Bright and early Monday morning I’ll be headed to the hospital to get the first of two hip replacements. I know I will be in the hospital at least one night, and we’ll see how it goes from there! So, if I haven’t posted in a few days, you know why! (Or if I post something unintelligible, you’ll know why as well.)

I’m just hoping for good results so I can be back in my craft room as soon as possible!

Enjoy!
