Good Fortune

Picture

Hello Stampers!

One of the joys of my job as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the “good fortune” to receive handmade cards from friends and fellow stampers. One of my team members, Jean Uphoff, gave me this fun card recently.

She used the Fortunate to Know You stamp set offered in Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog. I love the way she has the fortune coming out of the cookie. Jean used the Stampin’ Blends to add color to the card. Thanks, Jean!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Springtime Foils: Add Color!

Picture

Hello Stampers!

It’s been a lot of fun playing with all the free products Stampin’ Up! has offered during its Sale-A-Bration celebration. The promotion ends March 31, so if there’s something you want, place your order soon. (Earn free products with either $50 purchases or $100 purchases.)

I’m thinking you’re going to want, no, need, a package of the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper when you see today’s project. (Free with a $50 purchase of Stampin’ Up! products, before tax and shipping.) This spring-inspired paper has beautiful foil designs using gold, rose gold, and silver. The paper is lovely to use on its own, but it’s so fun to add color. You receive 12 sheets – three each of four, single-sided designs.

For today’s card, I used Stampin’ Up’s sponge brayers to add color to the paper. It is so fun and easy and eye-catching. I chose Daffodil Delight, but you can use any color of ink pad that suits your interest.

  1. I cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper at 5 x 3 ¾ inches. It’s so hard to choose; they are all so pretty.
  2. Using the Sponge Brayers (found on page 200 of Stampin’ Up!s Annual Catalog), I rolled the brayer onto the ink pad and then applied the ink to the paper, applying several layers to get the color I desired. (See the photo below.)
  3. I let the colored piece sit for about twenty minutes, to let the ink set in and dry. Then, I rubbed briskly with a paper towel. The color will wipe off the foil, leaving you with an awesome image.
  4. I used SNAIL to adhere the colored Designer Series Paper piece to a piece of Basic Black card stock measuring 5 ¼ x 4 inches.
  5. Then I added the ribbon. This is also really fun (and cool) with the Stampin’ Blends. I used the Silver 3/8-inch Metallic-Edge Ribbon. With the brush tip end of the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, I colored the ribbon. (See photo below.) Wow, what an awesome technique! With a glue dot on the end of each side of the ribbon, I wrapped it around the card base.
  6. I attached this to the Daffodil Delight card base, 11 x 4 ¼ inches, folded in half.
  7. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Archival Black onto a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock.
  8. I die cut this with an oval from the Stitched Shaped Framelits.
  9. I adhered the sentiment to a scalloped oval die cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits from black card stock.
  10. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop this up over the ribbon.

I just love the versatility of the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. I recommend you get some to play with before it’s gone!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Springtime Foils Wedding

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Just 18 days left of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration. What does this mean for you? It’s the last chance to earn FREE exclusive stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, shimmer ribbon, embossing folders and more free with qualifying purchases. There are free items for both $50 and $100 purchases.

One of the newest additions is the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. Get this free with just a $50 order (before tax and shipping). It is gorgeous with some Rose Gold highlights. It can be used for a lot of different projects. In today’s card, I used it for a wedding celebration. The wedding season will be in full swing soon. Get some cards ready to go!

  1. I started with a standard Basic Black card base and adhered a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 5 ¼ x 4 inches on the inside of the card. You need a place to either stamp a greeting or send your best wishes.
  2. I cut a piece of the striped Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper at 5 ¼ x 4 inches.
  3. Before adhering to the card base I wrapped a 6-inch piece of 1/8 Silver Ribbon around the front. I put a Glue Dot on each end of the ribbon and adhered them to the back of the DSP. Afix this piece to the front of the Basic Black base.
  4. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Smoky Slate ink. (Note: This would also look awesome heat embossed in silver.)
  5. I punched the sentiment from the scrap with the Everyday Label Punch.
  6. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment on a black piece die cut from the Lots of Labels Framelits.
  7. This was then layered with Glue Dots on a large Silver Foil Doily. This whole piece was adhered to the card base.
  8. I added Rhinestones for a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the Springtime Foils for your upcoming project.

For the Guys in the Your Life

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Often, many of us find it challenging to create masculine-themed items to recognize the guys in our life. Stampin’ Up! makes it easy with its True Gentleman Suite of products. With everything from Designer Series Paper to a stamp set to a coordinating punch and some fun corduroy ribbon, the matching products help in the creating process.

I love these Mini Pizza Boxes because they hold everything from a gift card to a cookie and chocolate and more. You get eight boxes for $6 (#144645).

  1. Using the Stampin’ Trimmer, I cut one piece from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper in a square at 3 3/8 inches, just under 3 ½ inches. I applied this to the top of the Mini Pizza Box.
  2. I cut four pieces of the same Designer Series Paper at 7/8 inches by 3 3/8 inches. Using adhesive, I applied these strips to the sides of the box.
  3. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring 1 inch by 3 3/8 inches. I added this to the top of the box.
  4. Choosing a different sheet of the Designer Series Paper, I punched the Box Builder twice and used Glue Dots to put the bow together. (Note, you will have one small middle piece left over.) I used Glue Dots to affix the box to the top of the box.
  5. I stuffed some Shreddie into the box and included my gift card.

Lookin’ Sharp

Picture

Hello Stampers!

Getting ready for a masculine card class this week, and Stampin’ Up!’s Truly Tailored Bundle fits the bill perfectly.

The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper’s images and colors (Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Crumb Cake) provide just the right background. And the Truly Tailored stamp set’s image are definitely geared toward the guys in your life.

With today’s card, I added the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp and the Pocket Framelits. I just think it’s cool the sunglass images coordinate so well.

It’s just a fun card perfect for a variety of occasions.

Thanks for stopping by today!
