Stylish Shapes Dies Thank You

Stylish Shapes Dies Thank You

fWith the bulk of my Christmas cards created and in the mail, I turned to creating some holiday and winter-themed thank you cards. It’s nice to have some on hand to thank people for the thoughtful gifts they bring.

In today’s post, I share a fun thank you card created with die cut shapes. Don’t you think this snowman is adorable?

Dots & Spots for Halloween

Stampin' Up! Dots & Spots

I have this crazy goal: I want to actually use some of the great crafting goodies I buy! Seriously! When Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog came out at the beginning of May, I bought the Dots & Spots Die. (That’s the die that makes the dotted background; the one that almost looks like cheese.) It looks cool, I thought. I should be able to do something fun with that. But, it sat there and sat there.

This last weekend, I made my way into the craft room and played with paper and that die specifically. Click here to see a fun, summer-themed card made with this die.

And then I thought: why not Halloween? I had just received the Bewitching stamp set and coordinating Witch Hat Builders Punch. Perhaps I could use all of these elements together.

Thus, the card above came to life.

Dots & Spots Die for Halloween

Here’s a quick recap of how this card came together:

  • Pumpkin Pie card base
  • Basic Black layer measuring 5 1/4 x 4 run through the Dots & Spots Die (attached to card front with just a little of glue strategically placed between the dots).
  • Layering Circles dies for the scallop circle
  • Stylish Shapes Dies for the black circle
  • Stamp dotted witch’s hat with black ink on white card stock, colored with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends
  • Pumpkin Pie banner with Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Finished with a bow created with black baker’s twine

Season of Chic Christmas

Season of Chic Christmas

Continuing my Christmas in July series with a holiday card featuring the Season of Chic stamp set. Find it on page 91 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog.

I initially selected this set because the images lend themselves to all four seasons. (Click here to see another post for samples using this stamp set.)

In addition to using the snowflake image from the stamp set, I used a piece of Designer Series Paper from Lights Aglow (found in the new July-December 2022 Mini Catalog), and sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set (also found in the new holiday mini).

But what’s most fun about this card is the layout. It’s so adaptable. I challenged my team to use it during our Mystery Stamping at our recent team meeting.

Season of Chic Christmas

The layout is simple:

  • Card base measures 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″ and folded
  • A piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Three squares measuring 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″. I used the square from the Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Another rectangle measuring 3/4″ x 3″
  • Embellishments

I had so much fun creating this first card, I made several more using a variety of other Stampin’ Up! products.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set

For this next card, I used Stampin’ Up!’s Sweetest Cherries Stamp Set and Cherry Builder Punch. The Designer Series Paper comes from the Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 package.

But I’m also excited to show you the alternate above created with one of the stamps from the set. Using the Design a Daydream 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, this pocket card is perfect for gift cards, small treats, and notes. Earn this as a hostess reward. It’s featured on page 170 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.
