Mother’s Day Fractured Card Technique
Welcome to Team Stamp It’s April Blog Hop! Thanks so much for joining us. Be sure to visit all of the blogs on the hop. Leave a comment for a chance to win a Confetti Birthday Card Kit.
This month, we feature cards and projects with a Mother’s Day theme. Today, I share a handmade greeting card using the fractured card technique or faux shutter technique.
Mother’s Day Fractured Card Technique
There are several ways to accomplish this technique. I chose the simplest. Here are some basic measurements to get you started.
- Basic Black cardstock base measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/5
- Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4 x 4 (I used the retiring Delightfully Eclectic, but many other patterned papers work well)
- Four cardstock strips matching your card base measuring 5 1/2 x 1/4
- A Basic White square (I die cut mine with the Stylish Shapes Dies)
- Sentiment and ink of choice (I used the “So Happy to Celebrate You from the Layering Leaves stamp set for the outside and the Happy Mother’s Day from Perennial Lavender for the inside. Flowers come from Petal Park stamp set.)
