Light the Sky Celebrate
For today’s hop, I chose to use Stampin’ Up!’s Light the Sky stamp set to create a patriotic card celebrating Independence Day. I know, I know! Who sends cards to celebrate the Fourth of July? I think it’s really fun to make and send cards for all of the holidays. In fact, I bought this stamp set to use specifically for July 4th and New Year’s.
One quick note about this stamp set. You won’t find it in a catalog; it’s part of Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives. It’s definitely for sale. (Take a minute to browse the Online Exclusives by clicking here. There are some really great products not found in catalogs.)

Here are some details about this card to help you create it at home:

Circle Sayings Fourth of July
When you’re a card maker, you don’t need a reason to get into your craft room and make a card. But when there’s a holiday, any holiday, us creators get into gear. And we even send cards to celebrate the Fourth of July. I found it fun to try to make an Independence Day card with the supplies I have on hand.
For this patriotic card, I grabbed a variety of current Stampin’ Up! products, including:
Night of Navy Base: 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 3 1/2″
Night of Navy Cardstock (front): 3″ x 5 1/4″ and (inside) 5 1/4″ x 1/2″
Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (6 x 6 Paper Pack): 2 3/4″ x 5″ (front) and 1″ x 5 1/4″ (inside)
Basic White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Peekaboo Treat Bags for the Fourth
I love treat bags! So, my project showcases one of Stampin’ Up!’s Peekaboo Treat Bags. These bags come in packages of 10 for $6. Find them on page 140 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. You receive five white and five Kraft bags. The little see-through window makes it super fun to add themed treats. I filled mine with red, white, and blue taffy.
I had to be a little creative when putting these bags together. Here’s a list of what I used:
Black and White Designs 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper (available in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Begin ordering from it July 1). I used the Blending Brushes to apply Night of Navy and Real Red ink to the DSP pieces.
Stars punched with the Starlit Punch (Annual Catalog) from the Real Red & White 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper (July-December 2022 Mini Catalog).
Sentiment from Peaceful Deer (Annual Catalog)
Double Oval Punch (Annual Catalog)
Real Red 3/8″ Ruffled Real Red Ribbon
These bags are super fun and super versatile. There are lots of ways to decorate. Fill them with everything from treats to gift cards.
