I continue my review of the great offerings during Stampin’ Up!’s SaleABration sale. Remember, you receive free product with minimum purchases of $50 and $100. Choose from 10 items that include exclusive stamp sets, dies, and Designer Series Paper. Click here to see a PDF of the catalog.
The card at the top showcases Stampin’ Up!’s #simplestamping. Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. This month we create a handmade greeting using just rubber stamps, ink, and paper with SaleABration products. I used the coordinating colors of Poppy Parade, So Saffron, and Pacific Point to create this bright and cheery birthday card.
I paired the images from the Textures & Frames stamp set with Stampin’ Up!’s Sunny Sentiments stamp set found on page 38 of the Annual Catalog. The sentiments included in this set cover most of the occasions for which I send cards. (Be sure to watch the video at the end of this post to see how this card is created. It’s a Facebook Live replay. I go live each Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time. Join me!)

Sharing a card using Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas Gleaming stamp set and #simplestamping.
Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. In September, it calls for stamps, ink, paper, and punches with a holiday theme to create a card that’s easily made with just a few products. The idea is to go back to the very basics of making handmade greeting cards. Hand-stamped cards don’t have to have a trillion layers with a ton of embellishments to be beautiful and heartfelt.
By nature, I see myself as a #simplestamper. I love to make clean and simple cards that anyone can re-create on their own at home. When I attended my first stamping presentation more than 22 years ago, we could only watch as the demonstrator showed us how to use the products. It looked like so much fun. But, I seriously questioned my skill level.
Not at all crafty, I was the kid who rushed through every art project just to be the first one finished. Surely, the projects weren’t quite refrigerator worthy. I was the kid who sat under the table at a craft show, not allowed to touch anything. I didn’t think rubber stamping and crafting were meant for me. But, the demonstrator was so kind. She said: “It’s handmade. It doesn’t have to be perfect.” From that day, I’ve taken her words to heart. That’s how I craft and teach my classes. I love the joy I see when someone makes their first handmade card, and it was easy peasy.
Christmas Gleaming #simplestamping card

I’m sharing a clean and simple card using Stampin’ Up!’s Positive Thoughts stamp set.
I find myself reaching for this stamp set more and more in the last couple of weeks. The sentiments are perfect for these times we face as a world.
It’s available in Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2020 Mini Catalog on page 23. Good news: It’s also available in Stampin’ Up!’s new, upcoming Annual Catalog (available to customers June 3). The coordinating die cuts, Nature’s Thoughts, will be available for purchase with the release of the new catalog.
For now, I relied on #simplestamping to create this clean and simple card Positive Thoughts rubber stamped greeting card. I can make a large number of cards in a short time and get the in the mail.
Card Highlights
Using the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies, die cut a hole in a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of card stock. The thick card stock holds up best.
Place the stencil on top of a white layer (also measuring 5 1/4 x 4).
Sponge color into the circle. This card uses Balmy Blue, Pool Part, and Pacific Point. I started with Balmy Blue at the bottom, using circular motions to blend the ink. Pool part was next, followed by Pacific Point.
Ink the flower image with the Pacific Point Classic Stampin’ Pad. Stamp the image once in the center of the circle of sponged ink. Without reinking, stamp again to the left and right of the first flower.
Stamp sentiment with Pacific Point ink pad.
Color the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.
Wrap the ribbon around the card and adhere in back with Mini Glue Dots. Tie a knot with another small ribbon piece.
Adhere the card front to the Pacific Point base.
Think about all of the color combinations that could be used — lots and lots of options for a clean and simple, but beautiful card.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’d love to help you with any of your stamping-related questions.
