Are you a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas cards? Do you prefer the holiday colors of reds and greens? Or do you like something a little different?
I find I’m a little bit of both!
For today’s card, I steered more toward the non-traditional with Night of Navy and gold while using Stampin’ Up!’s Hang an Ornament Bundle, now available from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog. I think you’ll love the price point of this bundle at $29.50. It lends itself to creating some quick and easy, but beautiful holiday cards.

Instructions:
Fold the 8 ½” x 5 ½” Bumblebee cardstock in half.
Ink the tree trunk from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set with Early Espresso ink and stamp on the front of the white cardstock, closer to the right side, as shown in the card above.
Stamp one of the smaller foliage images with Mossy Meadow ink on the tree branches. Stamp the other image with Mossy Meadow directly on top of the first. This is called two-step stamping.
Ink the shadow/ground stamp with Old Olive and stamp at the bottom of the tree trunk.
Choose a sentiment and stamp it at the bottom of the card with Mossy Meadow ink.
Afix the DSP piece to the front of the white piece, aligning it directly with the left edge.
Place the Bumblebee strip next to the DSP.
With Stampin’ Seal or your choice of adhesive, place the white cardstock onto the Mossy Meadow panel.
Afix this whole piece to the Bumblebee base.
Tie a bow with the Baker’s Twine and place on the front of the tree with a Glue Dot.

Showcasing #simplestamping using Designer Series Paper.
#simplestamping
Recently, Stampin’ Up! has focused on #simplestamping: the art of creating a handmade card with just rubber stamps, ink, and paper. After all, these provide the underpinnings of paper crafting. It allows us to focus on the basics of the craft, and we realize we can make beautiful projects with a handful of supplies. It’s a great place to start for beginning stampers, and it challenges seasoned stampers to step away from the extras.
Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. For October, it calls for using rubber stamps, ink, paper, and ribbon with a thank you card.
Designer Series Paper Sale
I combined the challenge with the Designer Series Paper sale effective through October 31, 2020. Fifteen of Stampin’ Up!’s double-sided, patterned papers are 15 percent off. It includes selections from both the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog. See the PDF here, or click on the photos at the end of the post to check them out and shop.
I love this card design because it showcases both sides of the paper. That’s often the most difficult part of crafting: choosing which side to use! Note: It uses the Playing with Patterns.
Here are a few cutting details. (Be sure to watch the video below showing how this design goes together. See other cards using the paper currently offered on the sale.)
Card stock for the base: 5 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches, scored at 1 inch on the 5 1/4-inch side.
A piece of patterned paper cut at 5 1/2 x 4.
Complementary ribbon.
A sentiment.

I’m sharing a #simplestamping card using Stampin’ Up’s New In Colors and the Lovely You stamp set.
Even though I’ve been stamping for about twenty-five years, I still get excited when a brand-new catalog comes out. (And I love it even more as a demonstrator because we receive sneak peeks and a chance to order ahead of time. Ask me how you can receive these same benefits.)
I love playing with all of the new stamps and coordinating framelits, inks, papers, and embellishments. And, we all look forward to using the newest In Colors. This 2020-2022 In Colors include: Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Bumble Bee, and Cinnamon Cider. Offerings include ink pads, ink refills, card stock, coordinating Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Write Markers, ribbon, enamel dots, and a selection of Stampin’ Blends.
#simplestamping
Each month, Stampin’ Up! issues a #simplestamping challenge. For June, it asks that we create a card using just rubber stamps, ink, paper, and the In Colors. My card features all of the colors as well as images from the brand-new Lovely You stamp set.
I stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5 inches x 3 3/4 inches. Using an assortment of stamps from the set, I added the images with all of the 2020-2022 In Colors. The second layer, Magenta Madness, measures 5 1/4 inches x 4 inches, and the Misty Moonlight base is 5 1/2 inches x 4 1/4 inches.
The sentiment piece is 5 inches x 1 inch. And, I cut the Magenta Madness layering piece at 5 inches x 1 1/8 inches.
Tthrough June 30, receive an additional free bundle of your choice when purchasing Stampin’ Up!’s Starter Kit. Choose $125 worth of product for just $99 (it’s all shipped free) AND get a free bundle — whether it be a stamp/punch combo or a stamp/die offering. That’s a great value!
